My voltage meter stays about a 1/4 past the halfway mark where the normal is. Is this dangerous?

Its been doing this ever since the hid headlights went on.
I'll get a pic up tomorrow but is it a danger?

Hm, alright.

Another thing it does is sometimes the ac/heater cluster doesn't illuminate, the lights don't work. Then other times they light right up, lol I've replaced fuses and cannot find a cause

Put a volt meter on your battery while it is running to see what your battery voltage is.

The cluster circuit pathway is a plastic sheet with copper layed over it. With time, the copper circuit may tend to crack due to vibration and movement of the truck. You can replace the whole cluster, or validate the circuit continuity with a voltmeter and repair where needed. The best hack I have used to fix that is Rear window defrost repair liquid...

As stated, I would validate the voltage coming out of the Alternator and sent to the battery while the engine is running. Far more precise than these cluster gauges.

Hope this helps
