2003 4.7 oil pressure switch code, no start.

So i havent driven my truck in about a month, had been running fine. my brother has been borrowing it to go to work and back just so it doesnt just sit areound the shop. Well he fired it up to get the ac going before he left work and it shut off on him, it has oil, it has coolant, but no fire now and the only code i have is for oil pressure switch. i just got it home and havent really done anything at all yet.

i guess my first question is this: if the pressure switch is bad will it keep it from getting a spark? like a limp mode type thing?

Oil pump went bad? (its always tapped when cold since i got it 6 years ago)

Or did it just bite the bullet and i need a rebuild or new engine.

Thanks for any input.

read that & your will see the indications & what could cause the code

Potential causes of a P0522 code include:
Faulty wiring or connection/connector in the oil pressure sender circuit
Faulty oil pressure sender/sensor
Open or short in circuit wiring
Low oil level, wrong oil, oil passage blockage

A failed oil pressure sending unit will not cause a no-start. Now, when you say it will not start, do you mean that the starter spins the engine over and it won't start or do you mean that when you turn the key, nothing happens and the starter is not engaging?

IF it is turning over, you need fuel, air, and spark for it to run. Can you hear your fuel pump run when your engine is turning over?

It turns over fine, starter engages, smells like fuel, theres not any mechanical noises that sounds like somethings broke internally. just spins and spins, it'll sputter a little from time to time. if i open the throttle it doesnt really help either, it tried to start one time but it was so flooded it just wasnt gonna happen. its possible that the oil pump and timing chain went out together.

i know i seen the truck the night before and moved it, it had a little bit of a miss to it that i didnt like and told him i wanted my truck back at the house soon. next morning he called and said it just shut off.

My fuel pump has always been quiet since i replaced it a few years ago, i do smell fuel though. ill have to check that tonight too. but still, for what its worth the only code is the oil pressure, and i cant get it to pop off enough to see if its building pressure by the gauge on the dash

so i FINALLY got around to messing with it. Charged the battery, got a can of ether and it ran fine off the whole can, no knocks or anything and built up oil pressure fine. It seems to be the fuel pump, I bought the pump(second one in 3 years) think a fella is just gonna do the right thing and just cut a square in the ole rusty ass bed and let it ride..
