It's cool that Ford offers that, but there are also other sites that give you the same calculator for those who are struggling with the numbers and who don't drive a Ford. Sometimes I wonder why folks don't just use those versus just winging it or arguing about it on a forum. :Big Laugh:
I have never heard of other sites that do this by VIN number. If there are others that would help greatly in this case. I don't pretend to know what others can tow with their truck. I know there are to many factors that are being guessed.

That is a really neat tool to figure out what the payload would be. Wonder how many truck owners actually use it?
I will say more and more every month. When a towing question like this comes up on the Ford site, someone in the first few post will post a link to it. You can select gooseneck, 5th wheel, or bumper.

They don't do it by vin, but you can plug in the weights from your door placards and do the same thing. You can also do this with the trailer to really figure out where you are.

This one is pretty good and easy to use:
