My goal is to eventually throw a supercharger at it for the speed and extra power. My truck is a daily driver but I do tow a 3000 lb boat and trailer combo during the summer. My truck so far has a Vararam cold air intake, clutch fan delete (aka electric fan upgrade but 2013 and newer trucks don’t need the v6 electric fan), 180 thermostat, MDS tuned off, stock 3.92 differential gears, JBA 1 7/8” long tube headers and 3” catless y pipe, Magnaflow 18” muffler and stock muffler back exhaust with resonators still, 4” Rough Country lift kit and kicker bars, 35x12.5r17 tires, 17x10 Fuel Assualt wheels, dyno tuned by Jeremy Satera with the electric fan tuned to turn on at 190 and 20% more throttle sensitivity. But, I also only generally get 12.5 miles to the gallon.

With today's gas prices 12.5 mpg doesnt make you puker as much I bet lol. I filled up the other day at our kroger with the dollar off paid 23 cents a gallon. I was like let's see that less than a buck everyone keeps talking about so they can pay me to fill up lol.

Lol. I wish! I have to use the 91+ octane because of my tune and I have the 32 gallon gas tank. It’s still over $60 for me to fill but that’s better than the $100 I was used to.

@Elevated 2013 @Ohio5pt7 thank you for all the help guys! Really clears things up and gives me stuff to look at! I will keep you updated as I build the truck! Ive been looking at the hemifever stuff just haven't pulled the trigger yet. Im down in Dubuque, Iowa elevated so not too far from you! My tune requires 91+ as well but I have the 26 gallon tank so Its a little cheaper for me than you! Seriously thanks for all the help guys.

No problem! Glad I could help! Dubuque isn’t too far but I’d still probably go through a tank of gas to get there if not more. Lol. It all depends on which plastic pieces you want to take out?

Next should be headers. You wont see all the gains from a cam with stock manifolds. Then if you want performance a stall will get you more acceleration gains and will compliment what ever cam down the line.
Usually everyone does cai and muffler right off the bat doesnt need tuned but once you get serious here is the order I would recommend.
1. Tune you got it covered
2. Longtubes
3. Stall
4.electric fan
5.underdive pulley
6. Cam
7. 6.4 intake
8. TB
9. Heads
10. Stroker
11. Boost

Those can be rearranged some but you get the idea.

You're kidding us ... right?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He doesn't mention:
Gears
Heat wrap on headers
Tires
stiffing frame
losing weight
Gear oils
motor oils
and a whole bunch of other things.

I mentioned gears and going to 3.92 gears. Heat wrap on headers does next to nothing except keeping the heat inside the exhaust and not affecting the engine but that heat really doesn’t impact the engine as much as you may think. Oils aren’t a performance item and the frame isn’t likely to need stiffening unless you’re going to start adding an insane amount of torque and horsepower. The truck frames are pretty strong and by stiffening them, you add weight. Which counters your statement about losing weight (which will help if you can lose hundreds of pounds). What Ohio listed was a really good list of the basic upgrades that most do. Like any list ever written on that topic, there will always be room for additions or changes based on new discoveries or inventions.

once again this guy knows nothing and this list shows it

How do you figure that??? That is what 90% of us do for modifications? And since when do you call changing oil a modification or a horsepower or torque adder?? The best that can do is add less than 1 mile per gallon on its extreme best day. I think you have this backwards and you’re the 1 that should be quiet in this case! The OP was getting good answers until you stepped in and threw your useless 2 cents in.

It's not worth responding to him. Look at his post literally all he does is try to start arguements. He is a keyboard hard ass. I'm actually shocked mods haven't blocked his account yet.

@88ROOK @Ohio5pt7 @Elevated 2013 I went to my shop today to get my parking break line fixed. Just got off track so it was a five minute fix for them. I asked them about the list that Ohio and wild one made for me and they said that's a damn good list and that its spot on. Owner is actually starting to work up so estimates for me as well. Just because mods aren't done to a vehicle doesn't necessarily mean anything when it comes to knowledge. Never know where someone is financially or what they want to do with their truck. Thats the awesome part of people who build trucks. No truck is the same or serves the same purpose!

The dash, the plastics running up to the roof with the handles (sorry I don't know the name of that lol) The plastics on my center console (I have the bench seats) possibly the steering wheel plate you push for the horn to honk, and all of the other plastics around the cluster and where the glove box is and the little shelf about the glove box. I hope this all makes sense lol. If its not possible to remove some of these please let me know!

there will be bolts once you pop the plugs.

this is the radio bezel.

Never removed the whole dash no idea where to start on that one but I'll keep an eye out. Same with the steering wheel cover. I know you will want to disconnect the battery to do that one so you dont get a airbag to the face but that's all I got for that one.

The steering wheel cover that you hit to blow the horn has 4 T15 or T25 (I don’t remember which it is)Torx screws on the back side of it that you need to remove and then it comes right out. You will have to turn the steering wheel for better access to them. It is best if the battery is disconnected for your safety so that the air bag doesn’t go off accidentally.
