So finally got the lift and wheels done so it's time for the smiles and power to turn those wheels. Looking into a 426 stroker. Nothing super radical. I plan to use a 6.4 truck block as my base with a forged higher compression 10.5-11:1 rotating assembly. I know the 6.4 uses the same heads from what I understand as my 5.7. What about accessories? I'd have a custom cam done and long tubes. Not looking for super high hp 450-5 to the wheels but be reliable and a lot of torque for towing and getting these heavy ass wheels moving. Could I get to this level stock heads? Maybe a set of ported heads? Want to get it done as cheap as possible but still be reliable. The rotating assembly is about 2500 machining I imagine will be close to or more than that. Plus the 6.4 block will put me closer to 7k I would imagine then tuning and headers. I'd say I'm in the realm of 10-12k with the cam? Is that realistic anyone built anything similar?

Cost me about $12k-ish to build a 392 5.7 based stroker in 2013 for my 08 Charger. The 6.4 and 5.7 Eagle truck heads are very similar and would fair well with a good port and polish and if you can swing it larger intake/exhaust valves, just make sure to upgrade the valve springs as well.

The 6.4 heads actual have a larger chamber and I can’t remember if they have larger valves. Same design though. I’m building my 5.7 with a mid range power band and am aiming at 400 rwhp. I’m betting a stock block 6.4 cammed and full bolt ons would make 450 +rwhp. A stroker 6.4 block probably around 500 rwhp depending on your setup.

It's really hard to keep reminding myself thos is for longevity while towing and having power. The broke ass in me says save 6k put a blower on and be done with more power but I know it becomes a time bomb at that point
