Plug at the hood latch....whatzit?

Poking around under the hood of ny new Big Horn, there is a wiring connector at the hood latch.

I was thinking maybe it is for the alarm? Or is it something else?

Yes , it does.

Thats so the remote start knows the hood is shut and latched. If opened, the remote start won't work.
