I searched but couldn't find anything so I figured I would post here. Forgive me if I sound pissed but you will see why in a sec.
About a week ago, I installed some HIDs in my projectors and LEDs in my fogs from Jeremy at RetroShop and all was good for a few days until yesterday while at lunch, I'm driving and I get a notice on my EVIC that the Front Turn Signal and Rear Turn Signals are out. I'm thinking that's odd seeing as how they are both factory LEDs. I get to an empty parking lot to assess the situation and quickly discover that I have a huge problem. The only exterior lights I have are the passenger headlight, turn signal/puddle lights in the side mirrors and the cargo light. No fogs, no tail/brake lights, no signals, nothing. I'm thinking this is a computer issue so I pull the battery for an hour thinking that would clear things up. Oh and remember that one passenger headlight - the only one that works? Yeah, that guy won't turn off at all regardless of where the switch is. I have to pull the cable on the battery so it doesn't drain.
I told Jeremy about it and he is just as curious about it as me. I don't think his stuff did anything and I don't think I crossed any wires during the install. If I did, all my searching suggests that I would have seen something right away and I wouldn't affect all the lights. Just to be sure, I put everything back to stock and it still does not work.
The part where I'm upset (but holding it together - just barely) is there are 3 dealers near me. The one I purchased the truck from (preferred service location), one near where I work (I go there only if I NEED to), and one near my house (I actually speed UP when I pass by that place...)and all 3 treated me as if I was an interruption to their day. I understand that things get busy but I calmly explained to the service writer that this was a safety issue and if he could somehow get me in, I would write his boss the most glowing recommendation letter to get him to the front of the line for that company $20 Starbucks gift card for Christmas. Needless to say, it didn't work. I guess I was hoping for a bit more, what's the word I'm looking for......"empathy" for having to drive in rush hour with a vehicle with no brake lights. But enough about that. I get it looked at on Monday. Has anyone seen this issue before?
