unfortunately my truck has been at the dealer since last Monday. Went in with a flashing check engine light.

They pulled two codes. One for major EVAP leak and another for misfire in cylinder 8. Powertrain warranty is still in place for another 2k miles.

They replaced the PCM and now it is pulling codes for misfires in cylinder 2, 5, 7, and 8. Service rep is telling me they will do a compression and leak test and then determine what the issue is.


Pretty upset to be honest with you guys. I love the truck. Just want it to run right.

Any thoughts on why it would have more misfires are the PCM was replaced?

Nothing. Truck ran perfect. No ticking or anything

Well if you are not on the power wagon registry, I suggest signing up over there also. Lots of good info and a great group of guys. Specifically one who goes by the name of RetiredBLMrig, who is very good at electrical type questions... amongst many others as well.

This is certainly not the first time someone has had these specific issues. Trust me. Its just a matter of time before you will have answers.

Have you checked in the hd section here. Same stuff as 6.4 in all the other 2500. I think there’s a thread or two. One dude has 400k on his 6.4

Have them check the mds solenoids. Mine went out at 11K and spent a week in the shop waiting on fca for advice.

I’m sure me suggesting a part check will be met with a great attitude.

Yeah I know it’s extremely hard to find a good service department and getting even harder to find a good dealership that’s 1/2 way close to honest.

I actually don’t recall what the number was. Just did a quick search and let them know that the people in the body shop at the dealership were idiots and kept ignoring me. All was good after that.
