Purchased new 2018 1500 4x4 EcoDiesel

Hello all! I just purchased a new 1500 4x4, crew cab, Laramie with the EcoDiesel motor.
The dealer did not give me an Owners Manual or Diesel Supplement Manual. Said they do not come with the Ram trucks anymore. Showed me where to go online.

Has anyone else bought a new Ram recently and been told the same or did you get an Owners Manual?

Seems strange that you don't get an Owners manual.

No, it’s not an 18 thing. My 18 Limited came with all the traditional paperwork that’s stuffed in the fancy wallet along with the manual.

Congrats! I have the same truck except in white. As you can see in the center console, mine came with manuals.

My 2018 2500 came with the manual, maintenance and warranty booklets and a cd in a genuine imitation simulated leather case. And a bunch of other stuff like xm radio stuff etc. your dealer is lying, he’s probably selling them on eBay.

I've also seen some dealers give them away. A recent customer comes in, claims the truck they just bought didn't come with a manual (or they lost it). The salesman walks out to another new truck on the lot, takes the manual/wallet, and hands it to them.

Proper action would be order a new manual and wallet for the truck, but many salesman/dealerships will skip that step to save a few bucks, then feed you a line just like this one. "No manuals anymore, go online." Ha.

Total BS. Go back and demand you are given what the trucks come with.

Mine had a few manuals, more high level stuff and if you want the full owners manual and your the original owner you call ram and they send it to you in the mail. I'm glad I got it, it's at least an inch and a half thick. Lots of good info.

But new trucks come with the basic one. I would not have signed the paperwork without the manual in the glovebox

My 2018 came with a manual in a nice case just like JohnnyMacs. It had a CD in it as well.

My 18 Bighorn came with one. My guess is they will sell you one, probably yours.

Thanks all! I contacted FCA, they are sending me an owners Manual and the Diesel Supplement. I thought the dealer was selling me some non-sense. Love the truck though!

I have been on here in the past as we bought my son a used 2003 SLT, Hemi, 4x4, quad cab 2 yrs. ago.
He broke an intake valve spring and this site was a great help. He and I replaced them all with 6.2 exhaust springs. 20K miles since the repairs and it runs great. We put a MBRP cat back dual exhaust on it and he loves the sound!

As others have said, U should have gotten a manual. And U can go on line to FCA and download all of them. I got a manual with my MY 15 ED which I traded up to a MY 19 Hemi and also got the basic manual. Suggest U also join this forum here, as dedicated to the ED>>> Good PPL there also, just a saying...

...and congrats on your truck. I looked at the same exterior and interior color combo when purchasing my '18 ecodiesel. Let me be the first to also suggest a GDE tune to increase reliability, gas mileage, and performance on your truck. I've had mine tuned from 800 miles - makes a world of difference.
