I updated my 373's to 456's and am very happy with that .. 70-75 about 2100 rpm if I remember correctly ... Also, pulls much better than i thought possible. Not sure if I got the best pricing but installed everything for $3,000 here in Florida ... Dealer would only put 410's in at a much higher cost.
Well the gears are here and it's in the shop
They got the swap done and when he took it for the test drive it had some whining.
So he opened it back up made some adjustments and it was still doing it
Talked to him today and they said they have been talking with nitro and think they got the wrong crush sleeve and they are going back together with it now.
I did show up yesterday as they were taking it out and he let me drive it for the test drive
All i can say is wow
I eased the truck up to about 60-65 and other than the whining it moved so easy i couldn't tell how fast i was going
He is hoping all is resolved and done tomorrow
My truck is a 2017 2500 4x4 6.4 hemi
Leveled on 35's
Yes. I am running 35’s.
And the Nitro whine strikes again!
What gear ratio did you go with?
Not to hijack, but I am curious as to your unloaded mileage. Yes, its a truck, but I am considering the same gears to turn my 35s, and am just curious as to the mileage and driving characteristics of the 4.56s on the highway unloaded and not towing.
I had 4.88s swapped into my 2015 Ram 3500 in the last two weeks as well. Haven’t finished my 500 mile break in period yet, but so far I’m averaging 1.5 mpg more city/highway combined. I’m looking forward to towing my 7500 pound travel trailer once gear break in has finished to see what she’ll do in the mountains. I’m coming from the stock 3.73 gear set and have been running 295/70R18 Cooper ST Pros. (34.5 inch mud terrains)

Is your truck the 6.4?
Does your mds activate more often with the 4.88
I am excited to get mine back i think it should be an awesome upgrade lol
Yes. I have the 6.4 Hemi in my Ram truck. The MDS is active way more now than before. Especially on the highway and when cruising around town at 35-40 mph.
I’m running the 37x12.5 Terra Grappler G2’s. My EVIC shows anywhere from 12-12.5mpg depending on how much traffic I get stuck in that week or how windy it is...same mileage I got when I had the stock 3.73’s with the 37’s. With the stock tires I would get around 13.5-14.5 on the EVIC. This is with a lot of 75-80mph highay driving. If you drive more in the 65-70 range, expect to get another mpg out of it.I want real world mileage reports when you get done playing with the new grunt it has.

Imagine how I felt with the 37's and 3.73's...I had to manually shift to 5th every time I'd get on the highway because it couldn't go up any kind of incline in 6th. Now, no issues at all. Very rarely had to drop into 5th to get up a big hill...usually has to have a headwind as well for that to happen.I’m only running 35’s, so I’m hoping I can get a little bit better than that. But, 12 1/2 is still a little better than what I’m getting currently with the 3.73s, which has trouble maintaining 70 mph in 6th.
