Question on the dual usb charging port

Hi,
I’m trying to figure out the wiring for the dual usb ports in my truck.
My understanding is that red 1 is 12V positive, 3 is for illumination light, black 4 is negative. But when I connect 1 to 12V + and 4 to 12V -, the port does not work. It only works if I connect 1 and 2 to 12v +. Can someone explain how the wiring works and if there will be an issue if I connect 1 and 2 together to 12v positive?

Agree with red and black. But think orange and pink are data. I am trying to remember from my computer building days, but think a USB for charging only just has 2 wires, 4 would be power and data. Maybe someone else can chime in and correct me if I am mistaken, but think that is correct.

That USB port is for charging only, no data lines.
