Questions about Mopar lifters

I just got some Mopar lifters for my 05 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7hemi. I am about to pull my cam and lifters out. I am confused on what I should soak my lifters in? I’ve read online what I should soak them in but idk what brand or what type of oil.

I just want to do it right when putting back the engine together and make sure everything is lubed up. Also what break in oil should I use and how much of it?

Soak them in whatever engine oil you use.

There is no "break in" for cams or lifters. The only "break in" is the seating of your piston rings when they are new. Even then, there is no break in oil.

Use assembly lube on any metal to metal surface areas.

What low water crossing/area is the M60 traversing in yer Avatar? Or is it just a stock photo?

Whatever engine oil you are using; OEM calls for 5W-20 for yours, but honestly 5W-30 (which is what all the non-MDS 5.7's used before that) would probably be a better idea, so long as it's the same weight as in your engine.

Okay . I was thinking about going with 5w -30 but I was also trying to figure out what I should fill my engine with , like which brand. It takes about 7 quarts.

You dont need break in oil for roller lifters so for oil you can use whatever your local auto parts store sells. I usually use penzoil 5w30 synthetic I but have ran the cheapest oil possible in my 05 jeep they are not as picky as the 4th gen trucks as they dont have the same lifter issues.

Hi folks, I'm loving this Q&A forum, no nonsense to help guide us. I wasn't a Dodge Fan until I owned this Daytona addition Ram. Still like my Fords but I've had this turn heads and love the thumbs up I get at events, parades etc. She is pretty much stock but I'm thinking about maybe getting some Cherry bombs for the rumble. She is pretty quiet until I open her up in 4x4 and she and my girl squeals. Any thoughts?

Cherry bombs? Been while since I heard that like Hush Thrush. Lots of suggestions on exhaust. Use search part and look for Borla, Cat back, Magnaflow should give U an idea.

Depending upon wat U get expect a lil drone at highway speeds.
