I just got some Mopar lifters for my 05 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7hemi. I am about to pull my cam and lifters out. I am confused on what I should soak my lifters in? I’ve read online what I should soak them in but idk what brand or what type of oil.
I just want to do it right when putting back the...
2011 Ram 1500 5.7L - 228K Miles: I just completed the installation of an MDS Delete kit from Texas Speed, with stock cam and lifters, because of the known Hemi lifter issues. Mine had begun to eat the the cam lobes on 2 cylinders. As part of my rebuild, I replaced the the full timing set, oil...
Had the hemi tick the past month. Had a misfire code on one of the cylinders. They said one of the rods are likely bent. Dealership recommends a cam and lifter replacement for 10k or engine replacement for 14k on my 2015 ram v8 with 63000 miles on it.
Might just pay the diagnostic and take to...
Had a kit for stage 1 to install in my 2011 RAM by a shop out of Dallas called HPP racing. They didn’t use the mopar lifters, just the ones the came in the kit. I asked Rick at tapped performance look at it and make sure it’s in good runner order and if so to get me a tune because HPP did a bad...
Okay so I'm either overthinking this or I have a big problem. Heads were sent out, resurfaced, new springs, etc...
I put new lifters in. The intake push rods seem to push in ok but the exhaust valves fall all the way in if I let them. I used a camera to look down the hole and don't even see the...
Hello, hopefully this post has enough info to answer a few questions I have.
Background; the vehicle is new to me and had a severe 'tick' when purchased (single tick at engine speed, same tune at all temps and all rpm ranges). Figured I might get away with just a simple exhaust manifold bolt...
Problem Statement
· You have engine chatter at startup and you need to determine if the chatter is either ‘Lifter Noise’ or an “Exhaust Manifold Leak’;
· Both noises sound very similar and both will quieten down after the engine warms up, which makes it difficult to diagnose which issue you...
I need to do a top-end rebuild soon and I would like to get your feedback on what cam/lifters you chose to rebuild the top-end of your 5.7L?
Please list;
1. What you used? (i.e. Comp Cam *** with OEM Delphi lifters)
2. Did you keep MDS? why or why not?
3. Where you bought it?
4. Why you chose it?
I'm well-aware that the 5.7L HEMI has a fairly common issue surrounding the exhaust manifold bolts, causing the "HEMI tick". About 10 days ago, I noticed my truck had a tapping noise when cold-started. I assumed that this was the infamous HEMI tick and honestly didn't give it much thought. It...
so I bit the bullet and got a shop to put my lifters in because I have never done it before and was nervous.
Yes yes lifters are on back order (OE) so they used aftermarket.
Well the ticking only went away for for about a day and it’s back now. The mech went in and took it all apart again and...
So my truck has been at the dealership for 2 1/2 months waiting on OEM lifters but they said there are 11,000 back orders!!!! So i am trying too find a set of OEM lifters for 2015 Ram 2500 6.4 hemi with MDS that have a warranty so i can just take them up there and have them installed so i can...
So my truck has been at the dealership for 2 1/2 months waiting on OEM lifters but they said there are 11,000 back orders!!!! WTF this should be a recall if that many engines need lifters!! They also had to put a new cam in the engine at only 112k miles so that seems odd too me. My after market...

Anyone else had issues with a specific dealer then referred to the 1-800 customer service number and been told to basically pound sand?
2017 Ram 1500 5.7
Ticking and a clunking noise.
Cams/lifters at 55k
Rear diff rebuilt at 55k
Ticking came back and clunk is worse than ever at 60k.
Long...
My 2011 (Ram 1500 4wd) has 150k on the clock and the lifter/cam issue finally caught up with us. Rather than invest $3k for cam repair on a high-mileages engine, or $4500 for a remanufactured motor, why not just drop in a low-mileage engine from a 2014 or 2015?
What’s the year range where...
