Man, I had a similar experience with Ford back in 2012. Numerous "repair attempts", if you want to call them that, scratches on my truck, **** poor attitude from the dealer, Ford customer care blowing me off. Eventually I got the BBB and AG involved. Not only did they lemon my truck and replace it, but they also gave me a nice fat check. I had to lemon the replacement truck as well for a third truck which was traded for a Ram.

Those survey's will leave a nasty black mark on your record with the dealer. And dealers talk to one another.

The truck was a 2011, lemoned with 23k. I did not have to go to court. We did it through arbitration both times. The BBB took care of everything. The AG's investigation along with the BBB pretty much sealed the deal on the first truck. The second truck was lemoned with 8k miles on it. Blown transmission on both trucks. They tried to blame me both times because I towed a bass boat. Both trucks were bone stock.

You should have seen the look on the arbitrators face when the Ford rep said "due to the amount of towing these types of issues are customer induced". For the record I tow a 4000# bass boat. Arbitrator stopped them right there and was like "you advertise these trucks for their towing capabilities, and you're going to sit there and blame the customer for towing something that's not even half the weight of what your trucks are rated for? I don't think so".

The check was due to the amount of time I was without my vehicle. Which was about 5 months total between the two trucks. For which I had to pay for my own rental. It's was a completely ****** situation. I'll never buy another Ford.

I'm not defending the dealers actions with this post. However, Bdersch, you keep stating that your aftermarket wheels are the same size or slightly bigger than the factory tires. Per your build thread, you installed 20x12 Rockstar's and 33x12.50 Toyo RT's.

20x12 Rockstar = 38 lbs
33x12.50 RT = 69 lbs
Total = 107 lbs

Factory 17x7.0 = 25 lbs
Factory Goodyear 265/70R17 = 37 lbs
Total = 62 lbs

Your new tires and wheels are 45 lbs heavier per tire/wheel. That is probably why you have noise coming from your front suspension/brakes. The larger tires and wheels will wear out components faster. Also, the factory spare tire winch is most likely not designed for a 107 lb tire/wheel. You might try switching back to the factory spare.

what about OEM 20s, our trucks OEM 20s with over a 31" tire on them is a pretty heavy setup, some quick googling i came up with mixed responses of 75-85lbs for the OEM 20s with OEM 33s on them, so in that sense he is just over 30lbs more per wheel, ultimately the only real difference in his setup from a factory truck is the tire choice

So first his stock tires are 50 lbs. and I had the same set up he did.

For fun, since you brought it up, I weight my steel 17" spare with 265/70R17 Goodyear Tire, and it weighed...........87.8 lbs.

Now I'm not a really smart guy, but the same tires he has now, are standard on Rebels, which leads me to believe, the winch is more than capable.

I dont disagree that my rockstars with 33's are heavier than stock tires...

However, for my spare tire i am using the factory rim and using Toyo AT tires (dont remember the specific language of the tire but can look it up if you want...) I took the weight of that plus the weight of the factory rim to get the total weight which as i explain above is within 2-5 lbs of eachother.

I do 100% agree that the ram trucks come with an option for 33s i believe or very close to it. When i wanted to get my truck computer flashed to compensate for the bigger tires 33s are listed as an option that is recognized by the computer.

I dont disagree that larger tires can wear components out faster. Once again the issue i have from the start is NOT them saying sorry we cant fix it under warranty due to the tires. IF they came right out at the first service and said that before even looking at my truck i would have been understanding. But the issue here is them refusing that 1. there is even an issue, 2. refusing to even look at my truck at all and 3. refusing to warranty electrical issues under warranty due to the tires. I am not an unruly customer or someone who wants perfection or expects things to be handed to me. But when i show up and say hey i have a squeak can you find it and they respond there is no squeak and it literally squeaks at the first intersection i come too.... thats a PROBLEM!!! If they cant fix it under warranty that is fine with me... but at least diagnose the damn problem and tell me what it is so i can fix it.

My 20x12 -44's on 37x12.50's are heavy as **** compared to stock setups and my suspension and brakes are quiet as all hell...and it's a 2012!

Besides the slight vibration from the mud tires, it drives pretty damm smooth.

Soo....

If it was me, any further phone calls with these bozos would be recorded. And I'd entice whoever you talk to into clarifying that they wouldn't work on your truck again because you wouldn't blow sunshine up their exhaust pipes.

Looks like Indiana is a "one-party consent" state, meaning it's legal as long as at least one party on the call (i.e., YOU) knows it's being recorded. So there's no reason to tip them off that it is being recorded. Let them hang themselves. Even if the AG wouldn't accept it as evidence, I'm sure a civil lawyer could do something with it.

I hate that our society is so lawyer-happy, but once in a while, somebody deserves to have lawyers thrown at them. Sounds like these jackholes might qualify.

I have for sure thought about recording. The one Natalie case specialist keeps calling me. How do I record a phone call though? I don't have a recorder.

If you got a smart phone you have a recorder and just need the app. There are quite a few on the App Store (I'm sure for both iFin and Goober) and most are free

Check the legality of the recording phone calls in your state. Some states require both party consent for it to be admissible in court. Some states are one way consent, like when you hear "this call is being recorded for quality control purposes". Either way, you MUST inform the other party that the call is being recorded.

I am not a lawyer either, but I am familiar with voice recording laws due to the business I am in.

Legally you don't have to tell them they are being recorded in a one party consent state. Only need to advise them of recording and obtain consent in a two party consenting state.

The DEFINITION of one way consent means that you don't need to tell the other person that the call is being recorded.

I don't know what the laws are in the OP's state, so I won't give any legal advice though.
