Do more research. The fact that you listed a SRT max cam with a flashpaq tells me you need to really investigate what you want from your truck before you start buying parts to throw at it.

hence why i'm here... anymore dumb statements?

Your flashpak might run that cam. Each truck runs a touch different when you cam it but with the 260 its within the realm of being ran off a canned tune. If you go custom tuned then Hemifever tune with a Diablo product would be the way to go doing email tunes. Do you already have headers on the truck?

^I agree the truck would run stonger on a CMR tune. Also be safer A/F wise on the topend.

If u go with a srtmax cam it needs a 3400 stall if u dont want something that big go with a cam that goes with the stall size u want. I drop .3th and gained 4mph when I had the srtmax cam going from a 2800 stall edge to a circle d 3400 stall. I alsoo dropped from a 12.71@105 to a 12.49@108 by going from 4.10 to 4.56 with the srt max cam.

Its a great mid - top end cam

I think you should start from the back and work forward. 4.56s, locker, built valve body, 2800-3000 stall converter, and a Diablo tuner. That would give you better acceleration and overall performance, and then when you go for a cam, the rest of the truck is already set up to run a larger cam. You gotta keep in mind that's 5500 lbs you're slinging around, it takes more than just power to get it moving.

If he want the best out of the srtmax 2800-3000 isnt the way to go

And a srtmax cam in a 5500lb truck is not what I would do. Id go no bigger than the average 216/220 range cam

okay, so what i'm getting at here is go with a custom tune with a 260 cam, headers will soon come, no cats. or i can go with a mild 216 or 220 cam with a flashpaq tune? yes? remember, i'm new to the engine compartment, outside i got, inside i got, engine, no.

Yeah I've already been through this in another thread. Search srt Max Cam. Lethal hemi has run that cam, it will not do well in a quad cab application. Ive found a pretty aggressive cam from PPP that looks good on paper for a quad cab. 216/220 duration 562/560 lift 112LSA, it's similar to a comp 268 but with more lift. That cam with some Big valve heads will wake it up but you're gonna want to go with at least a 2800 stall converter and 4.56 gears. Custom tune is a must. Sean at hemifever does some good tuning.

I remember, thus why I quoted your findings earlier in the thread. I thought they had already shot down the srt max, and was making that rec based on something around a 268.

Yeah 268 is a great all around cam but the srtmax pulled hard up top especially. Id get another if I were to race hard core again to beat my 12.4 pass

I went to go look and the Inertia site asked for a login. Is it a custom tune required or will it run ok on a canned like a 260?
