What is the proper way to pop the glovebox door out to replace the HVAC filter?

My Silverado and Equinox are really easy, this 19 feels like I'm going to break the box, the support tabs, or crack the surround.

There has to be a trick I'm missing?

Takes a lot of force and bending the box to make it happen. It's eventually going to break either the box or one of the tabs off.

On my 2020 it was a pain in the butt! The video above shows how to do it but it's not as easy as it looks. I cursed a lot trying to do it.

I almost wondered if popping it off the hinge first would make it come out easier?

I had the glovebox in and out on my 14 more times then i could count, never once did it show any signs of breaking. I used to hook a piece of wire to the cable,as it can disappear far enough to be a pain to fish out again, and with a small piece of wire hooked to it,it was easy to retrieve.
The glovebox isn't as fragile as you think,it'll take a pile of bending and never break

There are many help videos on You Tube,
But it is not too bad.
As mentioned tie a string on to the cable that slows the dropping of the box.
And putting the CAF cover back on can be a PIA

My 13 Ram was easy, the 21 i replaced filter last week and was a pain. Couldn't get right side enough to come out. I did eventually, but few times changing it, i know something will break. Then the filter i got was blue, had foam seal and layer of carbon to absorb odors, not flexible like the flimsy oem one(which was full of crud, guess original owner never changed it, had pine needles, all sorts of stuff full to top of pleats.) The blue filter was $15, but is much nicer, like a k&n, fit was tight, so took me longer to get in, had to angle it and knock it in, but the foam should seal great.
