Is that a Canadian thing? I am yet to see a "Chef" at any dealership I have gone to. Just usually some coffee pots, and a machine to buy junk out of, LOL. Also, if real lucky, they may have a TV.
I've seen little sandwich nooks in some dealerships over the years, but this is the first time I've ever seen a full kitchen set up in a dealership, and with a chef, too.

When I was there last week for my OCI I got his lunch special:
Penne pasta (the real good kind), with a cream rose sauce made to order, fresh slice of chunky garlic bread, and two chicken breast parmesan pieces that were lightly dusted with his own made spices and topped with his own made red sauce.... was sooooo good!

The dealership I've been using is a bit off the beaten path but it is easy for me to get there on mostly country roads. It's at the Palladium Auto Park in the West end of Ottawa.

The Chef was trained in Paris, AFAIK, and makes many authentic spicy Asian meals.

Truth be told, I have her cell number and sometimes schedule my service visit based on the menu plan.

I still own an aluminum 19mm lug nut socket produced especially for the magnesium lug nuts on the Porsche 959 with real magnesium wheels.
The rule on those cars was NEVER UNDER ANY CICUMSTANCES use impact guns on them, PERIOD!

They also lubricated those lugs from the factory.

I use an impact gun to remove lug nuts, but NEVER use the impact tool for tightening.

As far as lubricating the lug threads goes, most manufacturers say not to.

This was always my understanding, too...
Never lube your wheel studs!

Maybe, it was my drinking from the garden hose as a kid but, I learned it from an old Toyota mechanic neighbour.

Like everything, you must have an operational brain and only apply a minute volume on the threads. It doesn't take much but makes for no-fuss removals.

I lived in the City of Ottawa for most of my garden hose refreshment years, maybe it was poisonous.

I've had my own well for the past 16 years but still prefer the charcoal filtered water from my kitchen tap instead.

As I get more experienced in life  I find myself getting a bit lazier but, at least for the past 10 years or so, I use a breaker bar, a large 1/2" ratchet and my torque wrench for wheel changes.

If I was changing wheels often like Rick was or you as a mechanic, power off, manual on, sounds good to me.

Does that mean one would glow in the dark if they drank this water? ;)

I read lots of alternative news and knew the whole story of the controversy at that site.

The onsite GM was pushing for a shutdown and rebuild of the cooling plant when she was suddenly sacked and dismissed.

Valuable isotopes were being produced for hospitals across Canadastan and the government didn't take kindly to any interruptions in making $.

The funny part, about 4-6 months later they got caught polluting the Ottawa River with Tritium, upstream of many city's municipal water processing operations.

That forced an extended shutdown, I don't recall how long.

The shop I worked in back in the day, was a European shop specializing in Mercedes, Porsche, and BMW. No other brands!
That owner issued those aluminum sockets to each mechanic with the stern warning that if he ever caught anyone using impact guns on anything, especially the Porsche, would be canned immediately!

The only time I 'lube' lugnuts is when working on hotrods that a lug centric (and even then, on the outside of the shank, not on the thread)

And then too, retorquing is a good idea

I once lost a wheel on a bronco because a few lug nuts came loose, and the wheel snapped the remaining lugs on its way out

Either bring your vehicle in or check the torque yourself. I always check all four wheels after I take my vehicles in for a rotation. One time, I took my wife's car into a tire shop to have the tires rotated, when it was done my wife drove her car home and complained of a strange noise. I checked the car and the lug nuts on one wheels were on finger tight. Stuff happens so make sure you double check work done on your vehicles.
