I have a 2011 ram 1500 and im getting the rough country 3.75 inch dodge combo lift installed on my truck. I want to get 20" fuel mavericks also but im confused about how the offset works. I was thinking about gettin the -12 offset. I am also looking at gettin 35" tires( maybe nitto mud terrains). Does the -12 offset mean it will stick out farther on my truck? Or will this cause more rub? Thank you for the responses

Stock 20 X 9 wheels have a +19mm offset (positive means wheel is tucked in, negative offset = further out)

-12 offset wheel is going to be out 31mm (1-1/4") further out side the fender than a stock +19 wheel
( 19 + 12 = 31 mm ) there are 25.4mm in an inch , so 31mm = 1-1/4"

If you put a wider tire on a 9" wheel with -12 offset, like a 35" x 12.5"
it will be about 2" outside the fender, just about perfect with a set of Pocket Flares.

a 10" wheel will be out a little further, (+1/2")

The trouble with too much negative offset and too wide of a wheel is you may rub the back part of the fender
(where the mud flap is) if you don't have enough lift to clear it at full steering lock when turning.
