Running Boards Painted?

Anyone painted their stock chrome running boards and can attest to how the paint holds up? I'm wanting black boards to finish "blacking" my express out, but I don't want to pay for new ones. If anyone knows, please share!

Can't speak for paint but a lot of people use line-x similar products to coat them and heard great things.

i plasti dipped mine they peeled the first time but thats because i didnt use clear coat then i re did dthem and used clear and they came out great

anyone know how to take the plastic steps off without messing them up?
