Good afternoon,

Late last year I had posted about not being able to keep the engine in my truck running unless I had the gas pedal to the floor.

I can't get logged in on my computer to update the post. Over the last weekend I had the chance to try a few of the suggestions in that post. But no real luck. I bought a fuel pressure tester and tried it out, the fuel pressure at the rails was right around 43 to 45 psi. When I had the engine running and pedal to the floor it had 55 psi or close to it.

The other option that I thought of was could it the the tps? Or if the leads between the distributor and the crank sensor got mixed up, would it cause the same issue?

Good afternoon,

A while ago I posted about not being able to keep the truck running unless I had my foot on the gas.

Still have that problem, posted my findings but no other replies to help me with this issue. I hooked up a fuel pressure tester and I have 40 PSI KOEO, when I start it and have my foot into it the pressure is at ~50 PSI. I ended up having to replace the alternator and had a friend reset all the adaptives with the PCM. Now since the reset for some reason or another, I have no pressure showing on the oil gauge and it still won't stay running. But the battery charge is good. Another odd thing that came up is now my windshield wipers randomly come on. So now I'm totally stumped on what the heck is going on. ANY ideas on what to check or where to start would be great. I thought about the TPS, or maybe throttle linkage may have done something odd. But I just don't know anymore.

Could be a faulty ignition switch causing all that or multifunction switch. Definitely something funny with your electrical system and not unheard of either, I’ve heard people say they had similar issues and it turned out to be the ignition or multifunction switch, I think there’s a thread on here somewhere, not sure though. I would take it to a good mechanic with a high level scan tool to get in deep in the pcm to have it checked/live data. Good luck on your truck bud.
