So, I went mudding last october and some branches scraped both sides of my truck and when I got back to the house there was some pretty good scratches on it. So I got some rubbing compound and that did pretty well but recently ive noticed that when the sun hits the truck right and even in normal light I cant still see them. And my truck is black so its hard to get it clean normally so. My question to you guys is, is there anything out there that will bring back the shine to the truck and get rid of the scratches pretty convincingly? I just want it to look good for the summer. Any suggestions will help. Thanks!

Yes, there are a lot of products that'll take care of it.
But without prior experience, learning on the most difficult color (black) is a really bad idea.

Seek a professional detailer, pay them $200 or whatever to cut/buff it back to better than new. Or, accept that it's a 14 year old truck and carry on with life.

My problem too, have fixed my truck up nice but it's got some scratches on both sides, like you said but mines brown and pretty noticeable, I've been looking at products they sell at the store such as "scratch remover" and what not and my buddy said you can buff IT some and use some scratch remover stuff and it should take them out okay, depending on how deep the scratches are, and if they went through your clear coat or deeper.

Idk about yours but my scratches are up high on my body mostly, it totally sucks, espcially after washing my truck up nice to go stroll and everything's looks great minus my little dent and the scratches

My truck is black, and my issue is swirl marks. I tried to polish a small section with swirl mark and scratch remover, but now I have swirl marks in a circular motion from applying the polish. I love black, but it is a PITA to keep up. I gave up and going let a pro do it eventually.
