Another option for us. Now, I went to SCT's website, and of course for the 15's, it states I need a PCM unlock, but fails to tell me a price. So, not sure this is any better that the HF+new PCM thing. Just happen to see this online....

The unlocked ECU from SCT is $599 I do believe. Then the price of the x4

It would be nice to find these PCMs in a junkyard. Then have them un-locked

I'm tuning mine through SCT currently. It's slow but successful so far. Full custom tuning through a popular tuner not yet popular with the 4th gen Rams...yet! :D

I've done quite a few with SCT and it works fine. It gets good results. There's a few extra things I can do with Diablo over SCT which is why I don't actively push SCT. But if you have SCT and need a tune, I get about 90% of what I would with Diablo. If you have a 6 speed, its a no brainer to get Diablo. I can get the 3.6L vehicles about .3 quicker 0 to 60 using Diablo over SCT though

The unlocked ECU does add about $500 to the price (using the diablo package). In the grand scheme of things, its kinda like having 1 more mod avail that costs $500. Its also MUCH easier to swap the ecu's when going to the dealer for service vs restoring stock, then starting back over trying to tune it again once you get the truck back. The tune process is about 45 min for the '14 model so spending 2 min to swap the ecu is a lot easier. Once the '15 ecu is tuned you don't have to restore it back to stock again. Just take it out and put it back in when you need.

I would like to know what few extra things does Diablo offer that SCT doesn't that makes Diablo a more superior tuner? I'm talking about power gains/drive ability. Please do tell...

I think he's talking he can do more with the custom running that act doesn't allow him to do....

I understand the point he made. All I am asking for is specifics.

Guess my '15 will stay as it sits then. Not willing to pay a grand for a tune. I'm all for tuning and performance, but not in a 5500 lb brick. If this was a SRT Challenger, then maybe. But I can't justify this expense. Sucks to have this requirement for the 15 tho.

Yes and probably adjusting all the parameters

Pardon my ignorance for asking lol.

That is not how it is with SCT, that's why I asked if it was actual load time for a tune. SCT takes less than 5 minutes EASY to upload a tune no matter what options or parameters you change.

They are talking about adding a custom tune, not downloading the tunes that come with the tuner.
