At any speed a almost unnoticeable rpm surge by 100-200, there is a quick triple vibration that I can feel in the entire truck at road speed. There is an increase in that vibration during acceleration at shift points. When I am engaged In 4auto the vibration increases 10 fold. Tires are brand new. (Stealership suggested that was the cause).
I am leaning towards either transfer case itself or the transmission. Anyone else had this issue.

I'd probably start by crawling under the truck and checking the motor/tranny mounts and also checking the driveshaft although I'm not sure how those would cause an RPM variance unless there is enough flex in the drive-train to put a little more stress on the motor.

Is there any change if/when in 4wd? Can you hear/feel any rpm surge while at idle both in and out of gear while sitting at a stop with the brakes depressed?

An older Dodge (2000 1500 CC 4x4 5.9 magnum) of mine had a defective torque converter that caused the RPM's to surge slightly (only while in gear) whether at a stop or moving, and would also shudder at low RPMs while accelerating. Replacement of TC under warranty fixed that issue.

I have had this shudder before, but almost always when in 4Auto. When it shifts from 2-3 is when I feel it. It seems intermittent and depends on RPM at the time also.

Mine used to be intermittent, now it’s constant and getting worse

That’s probably the only thing I haven’t done. So at idle in park there is no change. When I put it in gear. The rpm needle looks like it’s got Tourette’s. It’s hopping 100-200 rpm for a moment then calms down and just slightly bops up and down. Thanks

It wasn't happening before new tires, and right after you have new tires it started?

What tires are they and who put them on?

What or who is this question towards? If me then my problem was always there. The dealership said I needed new tires which I didn’t, but now I have brand new tires and the same problem

Just went through this with mine. I could feel a shudder while shifting in the lower gears. Took it to the dealer, first tried a software update-no help. Then they replaced the valve body-still no help. Then they replaced the transmission and all is well. I'm glad I have the lifetime drivetrain warranty. Cost me $100.....

Hello Nystagmus,
We suggest having your dealer inspect this concern if you have not done so already. We are also available via private message if you would like any additional assistance during that process.

Thank you....I took it to my dealer this summer because my warranty was soon to expire. They said everything was normal

Well Laura. If RamCares actually cared people wouldn’t have to worry about these issues. I just went through an issue with a recall that was performed incorrectly and caused failure of a wiring harness. I was expected to pay for the repair.
Owned Mopars all my life. I will be switching brands after this 2014 POS drives off a cliff.
