I have a 2013 Ram 1500 Bighorn. Sometimes when I back up I smell something that smells like it is burning? I don't smell it all the time. I have looked and I cannot tell where it is coming from? Anyone else experienced this issue?

Hi Joey,

We certainly understand why this would be concerning. If you end up addressing this with your dealer, please be sure to let us know via private message. We are more than happy to provide you with an additional layer of support for that process.

Check your transmission fluid warm for color and smell. When was it last serviced and how many miles on truck?

I am not sure. It has 90k miles. I just bought it 3 years ago. It does not smell in drive. Only in reverse when I get out. I was told not to ever change transmission fluid unless it is slipping otherwise you are asking for trouble.

So you believe you wait til there is a problem then you change the fluid, and you believe this is a good strategy for you? Trouble yourself to watch this video, see what guys who repair transmissions every single day think about your strategy and your rfe transmission. The main issue with changing trans fluid is flush machines, the second issue is when you allow a fluid to go black/brown. As long as you avoid these two things, you are good.
