my seafoam thread reminded me of this. How may of you guys use it. any kind in your trucks. (marvel mystery oil, injector, cleaner, octane booster, slick 50..........) i know is all probly bs. but i know my old 1991 s10 with a 4.3 had horrible idle issues, and when merginf on the highway, the rpms would "break up" around 4k. My dad told me about "restore, tune up in a can" an i tried it. im not saying its a miracle worker, but it deffinitly smoothed the idle, and helped with the rpms breaking up....... A LITTLE BIT but noticeable.

on my 2004, i used lucas fuel injector cleaner, every third fill up. from 20k miles to 99600, when i traded it in, and ive never had any fuel or idle issues.

My dad swears by marvel mystery stuff, He puts it in his 1qt 100 miles before he changes it as a (flush/cleaner). he dont use it to substitute for oil quantity, or in the diesel tank as a injector cleaner. (bottle says you can use it all those ways)

as for the octane boost.......lest just say in my younger years, we tried to run a yerf dog gokart on 100% "103 octane booster" in a can..............not so much

I've never used ANY additive or the like in any of the 15 vehicles our family's owned over the last 10YRS EXCEPT Amsoil motor oil, Amsoil or Wixx filters and [only] Shell or Exxon gas and I've never had any fuel or idle issues.

However, I regularly do use - and have been for years now - Sea Foam® on both my commercial zero turn mowers and ALL other lawn/garden equipment.... along with Amsoil motor oil of course.

I used z-max on my last oil change. And to be honest, the last 2 oil change I did without it at 3k miles you could tell the oil needed to be changed lol right now I'm at 3500 miles on this oil change and the engine still sounds like I just changed it. I don't know if that little bottle is Wats doin it, but it helped.

Droid Incredible 2 on the move!!!

I have used the REstore stuff before on an old car. it did good.

Why, is that a bad thing? I have used it in other vehicles prior

I have read multiple locations these transmission do not like additives.
but sounds like you would know first hand better than I would if it is okay.

something about changing the consistency and lubricating qualities of the ATF+4.

I use the ATF +4 but use a can of it for the last little amount when filling it up. Never thought of it messing with the properties of the atf. It's just always been recommended to me.

I have a Durango with 5.2 that used oil for a while and it could be the plenum issue but anyway. Tried restore for two oil changes in a row and now does not use any oil and I don't use it anymore. I assume it was blow by but really do not know much about the insides of the motor.
