Hey all,

My truck just came out of a warranty repair, they replaced the front right axle shaft, put in a new differential, and did an alignment. Now my truck makes this creaking noise from the steering column when I turn the wheel. Any thoughts on what it could be? You'll start to hear it at the 7 second mark in the video below.

I also have another issue where the truck has a metallic grinding noise in 2WD over 45mph that completely disappears in 4WD. Could this be related? Greatly appreciate if anyone can shed some light on this situation.

Hi ThePreacher666,
We certainly understand why this may be frustrating. Our team would be happy to get you connected with a case specialist to work with you and your dealer throughout the repair process. If this is something you would be interested in, please send our team a private message!

Hey all,

I am working to schedule an appointment with another dealer so that the customer care team can step in to resolve the situation. I'll keep you posted.

As I told the customer care agent, the dealer that did the work has no idea what they're doing and after spending all this time on it they're not going to suddenly figure it out.

i agree. i sadly will not take my vehicle to the selling dealer after having the wire from my open hood switch for the remote starter torn by the parking brake. there is simply no excuse for the job done. it wasn't taped. it wasn't ziptied, it wasn't oem mopar clipped. i know because i looked at it thoroughly myself. the wire was simply left to dangle under the dash. oversight? possibly. but for the 750 canadian it cost me to get the remote installed (and the kit being about 450 canadian of that at my price, not their cost) i figure they made at least 300 dollars labour on the install. sloppy job. it hasn't even gone to that dealer for an oil change and never will. which is too bad for them as they are in a smaller city 30 minutes from the big city dealers and i have to think they count on getting some big city traffic out there. they need to be BETTER than the big city dealers.

I hear you on that. Did they make it right and fix it for you? As someone who had their truck worked on and the dealer let me drive away with my tie rods bolted back on after test driving it themselves I totally get what you mean when you say it's inexcusable.

I originally took mine to a bigger dealer, now I am taking it to a smaller dealer which I believe is family owned in hopes they'll actually give a crap about doing good work and as you said trying to be better than a bigger city dealership.

the 2nd dealer i've been going to did fix it, yes, under warranty. it was as simple job really i could have done myself but hey, part of what i paid for is warranty. they agreed it hadn't been anchored properly and i was impressed how detailed they were explaining on the invoice what they did to remedy the situation. (rerouting the wiring, anchoring away from any pedals, etc)

i really do hope you have better luck with this new to you dealer. i'm fortunate that i've also been told by Wild one who lives in my city about a mod friendly dealer that's 30 miles out of the city but its good to know for future reference. he's a small town dealer too. i'm staying away from any of the big dealers in Calgary which is only 15 minutes away but aside from one that's like 45 minutes away there, i wouldn't go near any of rest of the big city dealers.
