what the heck is going on?

Trying to find out if maybe fuel management and gearing is the issue, I have no earthly idea. !/2 the cars we have test driven feel like you are driving through the e brake on, even though it isn't on. Lexus, new merc, all felt this, the older glk merc was good and the outback drive normal, but 1/2 the cars out there feel like they are driving though resistance? It's not the cvt either, I don't know that any were cvt. I get in my rav 4 after testing this vehicles and it drives like a freaking dream. Plus, getting in and out is a great, closest thing of everything we are testing is the Subaru. More committed then ever to keep the rav 4, in fact gonna buy some shocks and redo them soon, gonna call in a favor with the bro as we are having a grad party at the ranch for his girl med school, he owes, lol. Helpful to have 4 hands on those shocks as you have to take apart uca and knuckle, whatever you call that stuff in those vehicles. It's a 4-6 hour job, but man rav 4 in 2010 made a great car.

Big news in nascar world with a twist, nascar says they are close to a 4th manu entering the sport, rumor is it is between dodge and honda. I'm not sure how dodge would fit in as they dont have any cars. Dale jr is hesitant, what if it is honda? Nascar has had v8's since it's inception, would honda entering the sport have nascar entering the a different engine package? More to come...
I think the new charger daytona would look pretty sweet in nascar

It was actually above freezing here for the first time in weeks so I changed the oil in the wife's Grand Cherokee this afternoon. Went back with SS 0w30.

Unlike the hemi, there's no verbiage in the owners manual stating it will explode into a firey ball of death if 0w20 isn't used I figured I'd give it a shot.

Kidding aside tho, If there are actually any problems I'll report back.

I been running 5W-30 and 0W-30 Red Line for years.
All is well, you'll be fine.

Interestingly, 5W-30 had no shear vis change at all approaching 5k miles. I know this because I sent in simultaneous VOA with the UOA.

Conversely, 0W-30 has app. 8% vis reduction, due to shear and/or volatility evaporation.

I plan to see how HPL 0W-30 compares after I burn up my Red Line inventory.

Just changed the oil in my wife’s newish 23 Grand Cherokee for the first time. I kept saying I was going to put 5W-30 in it but chickened out at the last minute and went with 5W-20. I have to admit it was pretty noisy with the 0W-20 in it and is maybe slightly quieter at startup now. Maybe I’ll go with 5W-30 next time.

It’s funny to look back to my farm days when 10 w was for extreme cold. But I too am going with the 0w 30 or 40 for my winter vehicles.Im embarrassed to say my V6 caddy with 3k hasn’t seem snow yet and has 5-30 still.

Heck, where you are it isn't arctic cold. When I moved from Madison to north of Minneapolis I instantly noticed it was 10 degrees colder on average, and 2 weeks earlier and later. And Jefferson is east of Madison and more temperate.

Anyway, I am consolidating to HPL SuperCar 0W-30 at end of year. I think.

Looks yummy, some type of hearty bread? My bread journey failed sad to say, live and learn. My dimensions for my pizza oven were correct, but the oven was too small, which doesn't make sense unless you built a pizza oven before, created a low o2 situation. So I'm back to drawing board, cant wait til summer to fix the oven and give it a go. Just gonna raise it 4 inches, in theory this should allow enough o2 in.

Got so get some good mother going and feed her some flour weekly. How often do you have the feed the mother you bread guys?

I'm now only a couple thousand KM's from my OCI at the 10,000km interval on the HPL SC 0W30 with a 20-820, and it's all been winter driven, too, with some morning auto-starts for warm up. We'll see if there's any fuel dilution in the sample due to winter environmental conditions.

I will say that my engine still starts quiet, no rattling or dry starts, and is buttery smooth on this oil & filter combo.
Not a drop down on my dipstick either.

I'm also going to do a visual for us all on what my catch can has caught during this 10,000km run as I emptied and thoroughly cleaned when I did the oil change so we could see what this mileage run time using this viscosity oil, and winter conditions produces.

this video made me get on that RMI 25 order from eBay, two 32 ounces can do both vehicles this year and save the other one with seal for 2 years. I don't doubt for a minute RMI 25 can stop this as long as the core is still flowing.
Ordered, received, and installed... here's hoping!
