It's like this piece here, listen to this guy. I mean this was designed to be enough to get someone to rush out and buy Royal Purple? It is freaking embarrassing on how stupid the companies must think the public is.

Synerlec gotta have t, lol.

In regards to the manifold bolts I've been told you can switch them out to grade 8blots and they wont break anymore.

Anyone else hear that before?

It would seem if these stronger grade of bolts would keep these weak A$$ Exhaust Manifolds from warping & breaking the bolts--->you would think these group of Wankers (Chryslers) engineers would have made the call to switch to them.
Especially after back to back to back to back years of claims of this happening.

Wait a minute! Why work harder towards making a strong / dependable motor more reliable & trouble free & more desirable?

If one was going to make the switch the perfect time would be before the original bolts break & also even better would be to a new low mileage 5.7L.
The original bolts might be fairly easy to remove!

TJFD: Pardon my ignorance my memory is not the best! What oil filter are you using?

Well maybe you weren't reading way back when we covered esters. Compressors and turbines really need modern esters. So that PR piece is kind of embarrassing, I kinda agree with GIjoe, but that is the way of the world these days. Not really snake oil, but not really something that is going to make you change your oil 1/3 of the time either. It is never the base oil that determines that, the additives are more responsible for long oil change intervals. And in an engine that is mechanically set to operate at 210F, esters are nothing more then a luxury. Whereas in compressors and turbines they are a necessity.
So dime to donuts they are just talking about esters, maybe the mixed a different alcohol with a different acid and came up with something they are going to call revolutionary. We wont see it an oil from exxon for the same reason why they took basically all of the group 4's and 5's out of the oil. The market wont support it, the market isn't evening supporting GtL PUP.

I was reading then ( durring ester)

Just posted it on a whim. I new it was very uninformative but just wondering if there was truly somthing behind it that somone heard about or somthing. It was meant to be taken with a grain of salt.

I know when PUP first arrived on the shelves I believe the SM or SL version the additive package was incredibly robust!
The UOA were all coming back virtually NO wear or Shearing.

It was the perfect oil as most seen it over @ BITOG!
Then it was like within a month period it was no longer in production!
The formulation had been changed to mirror PP with only a minor discrepancy within a couple additives!

It was like our wonderful government stepped in and put an end to possibly the fountain of youth elixir for every motor!

Shell / Pennzoil had Zero response from all the questions! They had found the ideal combo & was shut down by something or someone!

I still believe today PUP is one of the More remarkable robust oils in every viscosity! & Is still being limited to the public due to Unknown reasons!

PU noack 6 and the documented cleaning was amazing. UOA's still look as good as anything.

I wonder if you called a Dealer and asked if Mopar made a synthetic filter for the 5.7 what they would say?

Depends on the dealer. Those that are "tuned in" to the SRT and performance side of things know about it, others not so much.

PYB 5w30 every 3-5k will most likely keep most Hemi's happy for 200k or more

As I do agree , but my hemi isn't most it's MINE
And 200 k yep I agree with that too , but I went nearly 300 k on my 360 , so I'm gonna keep using high molly & Zinc at about 8k intervals to try and squeeze more cam & lifter life out of mine .

@ the first sign of cam or lifter issues I'll put in a performance cam & get rid of the mds crap as well , well unless it's less than 100 k then it's a warranty claim

Oh I'm right with you! I like my Hemi to have every chance of not killing the cam/lifters.

Did you run Redline in your 360?

Ok, I've read a good bit of this thread. So is the consensus that the best oil to use for the Hemi is a PUP mix of 4qts 5w30 and 3qts 0w40 or to use Redline 5w30?

Both, some of us have had good luck with Amsoil 5W-30 Signature Series as well, others have not.

Redline is the top choice if you want to pay for it.

I agree 110% Redline 5W-30 the best year round oil for the 5.7L Hemi .
A bit pricy but NOT SO if you use it for 8-12,000 miles .... for what you are getting the $price washes out imo , just make sure you use a 100% synthetic media filter such as the RP10-48.

In the long run the price for Redline hopefully will pay for itself with a quiet motor and one that will outlast the rest of the truck.
Redline 5w30 in mine had zero tick before and betting on not ever getting it..lol
More then likely will switch my Mustang over to it as well.
