PUP 0w-40 reformulated. Must not be using anymore GTL. Pour point went from -51c to -36c

Sheared down anyway. I'd never use that stuff. Too bad FCA got hung up on it as a "one-size-fits-all" oil recommendation for global conditions they didn't understand. Wouldn't be good for engine longevity - sticking piston rings, solenoid orifices, etc.

Posted in blackstone already but figured id share here to.

Heres the latest sample on my durango hemi. This was the third oil change. Oil was in service from 2500 miles To 4968 miles. The last short drain im doing. Flagged items are not an issue as mobil 1 esp x2 VOA i have shows oxidation and sulfation are essentially unchanged. My VOA showed identical sulfation and 38.8 oxidation vs 38.1 on this UOA. Viscosity drop due to fuel which suprised me. I didnt expect to see fuel dilution.

You got a dribbly injector? Port injectors shouldn't make any unburned fuel into the oil at all.

That Noack on the 10W-30 got even better. For those of us with at least one DI Eco-tec in stable, that’s definitely something to consider.

Thanks.

Their 0W-30 is a dog, though, in terms of NOACK and HTHS Vis - compared to the other vis grades and to Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30. And likely to HPL's SC 0W-30, too. Looks to me like their VII additive isn't top notch?

^^^ Speaking about M1 0W30 ESP oil....

I just did my oil & filter change last week and switched to this with 2x10oz bottles of Lubegard Biotech and using the RP20-820 as well.

Too dang bad the HPL SC 0W30 is over $500CDN for a single pail to my door here in Ontario Canada or I'd still be using it!!

We'll see how things go with this new oil/additive strategy. I'm going to run my typical 10,000km OCI and then send it in to Blackstone with TAN/TBN testing as well. With the amount of driving I do currently, I'll see 10K-km's in 4 moths or less ;)

I'll post up the results of it and my previous HPL SC 0W30 results and we can all see the "tale-of-the-tape" as it were.

The only thing i can come up with is i went to a carshow the night before the oil change and i did an hour long mostly idle thru town where i goosed it probably 15 times. Maybe that dumped some extra fuel in the cylinder that didnt completely burn because they were brief launches kinda. Changed it next morning so perhaps it all didnt burn off? Just a theory anyway but thats all i can come up with

Ok - I've never had a port injected engine with a fuel dilution report. I've seen late model diesels with piezo injectors get it - when the injector gets weak.

The GDI car here had demonstrable fuel dilution @ 4,000 miles when I changed oil. Surely it had insoluble soot also, but it was all likely taken up by the DD additive in suspension, so isn't reported. Never let those GDI motors go beyond 5,000 mile OCI's!

If a port injector is leaking by, the MAP, IAT, ECT, or O2 sensors are reading incorrectly, you can get lots of unburned fuel into the engine.

Ive seen some 6.4s get fuel dilution over on bobs
