Tablet mount options

Hi All

Hope you are all well, Quick question if I may, anyone suggest or used some sort of tablet mount that permantely attached to the area where one sometimes places there sunglasses?

I am looking at options of installing a 9.7" tablet that can be secured on the dash area ( not windshield suction type ) and figured perhaps there might be something I can buy to drill into the sunglasses area for the tablet to clap to.

I dont see anything that holds a tablet there. Plus they all appear to accommodate suction type connections. Cheers anyways.

Check out Ram Mounts also. Lots of options. I'm sure you could find something to pair with the Bayou mount that would be exactly what you're looking for.

I've got this installed in my '15:
IDKCR01 | by Scosche

they've reduced the price from 50$ to 30$ which i think is a deal if you have an ipad Air... i made a custom backing for my Samsung Tab S2 8.4" to fit but you could also get a Samsung Tab S2 9.7" to fit by just adding a ~1mm spacer to the one side of the tablet.

haven't tested any other tablets so not sure about them.

Yeah, its for a Tab s2 9.7" device, I like the location position of that one, albeit blocks the truck display but oh well..

I put mine on the dash on an anti slip pad but a more permanent option would be nice. The tablet I use is only an 8 inch though.

No, I measured the area on the truck where the ram logo is, definitely won't accommodate a 50mm x 55mm base plate for me to drill into using that arkon mount i posted on amazon link earlier.

Don't see any on their website. BUT, the mount you found on Amazon has a hole pattern of 30.17mm x 38.05mm (1 3/16" x 1 1/2"), so it should fit fine on the 2.5" disk on the Bayou Goat mount. Or you could buy the same Ram Ball mount in that picture for $6, RAM 2.5" Round Plate with the AMPs Hole Pattern with B Size 1" Ball Unpackaged - RAM-B-202U | RAM Mounts, although I couldn't find how big the ball is on the amazon mount, so don't know for sure if it would work with the Ram ball mount.

Looks like the amazon mount uses a 20mm (~59/64") ball, so you'd probably be better off using the ball/plate that comes with that mount rather than buying the Ram ball with the round plate.
