Next week I will be upgrading. Up to this point, I have done my work on suspension, brakes, interior and basic bolt ons. The only thing I didnt do myself was weld up my Magnaflow and custom dual exhaust. In addition to the MF exhaust, I have run a Vararam for years. Now I am adding a Diablosport i3, Moe’s 87mm TB. I know there is a lot more work to be done to maximize the Hemi’s potential.
My plan is to get a custom tune. I only run 93 octane in my truck. Truck is approaching 80k. Lubrication has either been 5w-30 Redline or PUP since 11k. No ticks and miraculously no broken exhaust manifold bolts. This is my daily driver.
Next year I will look at long tubes/hi-flow cats, TruTrac and the V6 e-fan/180 tstat.
Given the above upgrades, what should be my expectations of gains?
Custom tune options? Pros and cons?
If I understand correctly, I have to dump my Pedal Commander.

I got my long tubes & hi-flow cats/y-pipe installed by Quick-Shifter, had a custom tune done-Hp tuner done at the same time. The tuner told me should be about 420hp, to get any more would need to upgrade the cam. I believe the throttle sensitivey can be adjusted with the custom tune. I had my idle turned up to 750,there are lots of things that can be adjusted/ changed. I’m extremely happy with the outcome & my truck is running great!

I thought I read that you can use a pedal commander along with a tuner. But if the tuner you're using can adjust the throttle sensitivity which I think they all can. Then there's really no point in having both of them doing the same thing. Unless you really want to dial in the sensitivity with the pedal commander after the tuner is installed.

I could be wrong though so hopefully someone else chimes in.

I have heard more about removing it than keeping it. I may not adjust it with the i3 if I can keep the PC to turn it down when the missus drives it! But she handled the 6pd C5 just fine…
I have zero complaints about the PC.

Only thing that matter are time slips anyways. :head3:

You need the 6.4L manifold instead of wasting money on a TB for a 5.7L intake if you want actual HP gains.
From where I’m at now, to where I will be in a week or two…progress! Im not on your level, but I am watching and learning!
Need to rebuild the slush fund. Was thinking to free up the exhaust before anything further. The Moe’s TB was always secondary, but I offered and the fella accepted.

You need to throw a set of long tube headers into the mix, other then nitrous, they'll give you more bang for your buck then most bolt on mods.

Yes, next year sometime. Post- Cat is done, but I know the real ROI is in the long tubes. Partly a reason I never considered shorty’s. Theres a guy local to me selling a set of 5.7 Ram long tubes, never installed.i need to find out more info on them.

Sent my info for the PCM swap…now I wait…I am burning some PTO. My Bora spacers should be here tomorrow along with the Moe’s 87mm TB. Hart brakes sent me the wrong pads, I ordered ceramic and they sent semi-metallic. Contacted them via email and my ceramics arrived yesterday, they told me keep the others. Guess I will toss them up for grabs.
Researching Hemifever tunes now

No shipping notification on PCM yet, slightly disappointing.
Moe’s 87mm Throttle Body installed. Corsa 5” tips installed, Fahren LED H11/9005’s installed, no flicker, no errors. Adjusted them down a bit.

Still cant figure out how to connect the i3 to wifi. Plugged it into the laptop, settings, Wifi, nothing. Maybe it needs to be in the OBDII port for those functions to work…
Update: Figured it out and updated the tuner.

Drove it about 10 miles to break-in the pads/rotors, no vibrations or oddities, up to 60mph. Pulled it back in and checked tq on lug/spacer nuts. Nothing moved, still set at spec. The Hart Black brakes have great stopping power. Win Win!

Holy Chit!!!
I installed the PCM swap and loaded the 93 Octane Diablo tune, Trans tune, adjusted my tire size, bumped my idles up 50rpm and DELETED MDS!!!
Wow, this thing is angry RAM now. It pulls like a beast now. I live kinda in the sticks so I stopped and did a couple 0-60’s. First time just boiled the tires. 2nd attempt in 4wd and it flippin launched. Wow, Im totally sold. And this is just a canned tune. It spun in the 1-2 shift…never done that in the RAM before.
Now I have to decide on a custom tune, but I can’t wait to see where that would put this truck.
