maybe someone can shed some light on what may be happening with my truck before i make the mission out to the service department.

truck: 2013 express SCSB 2wd with 3500 highway miles.
problem: i hear a loud pop-grind-slide-pop when i shift from park into reverse or from drive into reverse. it started about a month ago and has progressively gotten louder. today its been alarmingly loud.

anyone else have these symptoms?

Take it in and be relentless in getting it fixed. I had a small issue and because the dealer didn't take me serious and fix it all the way I ended up winning 13g in a lemon law case and I got to keep my truck. All you need is 4 times to service department within 18 months of first owning it. So don't put it off. good luck, hopefully they just fix it, but if they don't Cali protects you

Even sweeter, because it was still under warranty, even after I got my 13g, they still had to fix it. If they refuse to try and fix it under warranty they have to continue to pay or buy back the truck in full, and still pay the 13g for having a lemon. The 5th time they fixed it and I sold the truck for like a grand less then i paid for it plus had 10 grand in my pocket, the lawyer actually got 3 of the 13. You live in the no messing around state when it comes to automakers selling off lemons.

Dang doesn't sound too good. I'd get it checked out ASAP. Let us know the results in case somebody else has the same problem.

My truck is currently at the dealer for this as well. I also have a 13 RCSB Express 2wd. It's such a horrible sound. I brought it this evening and they're supposed to get back to me tomorrow about it.

Keep us updated with what they say on yours?

Jeez, I hope it's nothing serious with our trucks. Ill definitely keep the thread updated and hopefully i don't get terrible news from the dealership but hey, that's what the warranty is for. Good luck with your truck.

Dropped the truck off today. Service manager had a concerned look on his face when I showed him the problem I was having. He wrote me up for a 5 day rental and said he would call me tomorrow. It's a waiting game now.

Got my truck back today. "Can't reproduce problem". Stupid dealership. It's painfully obvious on mine. Oh well, time to hit the next dealership, right down the road. Good luck with yours.

Since my F150 and all the issues I had with that I now always take a tech for a ride to reproduce the issues. That way there is no reason I should get a vehicle back from service with a "Could not duplicate issue" on the ticket.

So I got the truck back. It's still messed up. The dealership acknowledges that there is an issue but because the truck drives fine, they're logging it down as "normal operating condition." Basically saying, "bring it back when it's broken." I'm not even mad, it's under warranty, ill break it and then they have to spend more money to fix it later. But what kills me is that I can't mod it like I want to until they fix it because installing a new TC will make the transmission my problem and not theirs.

I tried to do that with them. Of course they didn't want to go on a ride with me. The Service Adviser never even left his chair.

Yeah. I got a survey in the email on Wednesday 9/4 and filled it out appropriately. The next morning at like 9:30am lo and behold, the service manager calls me and wants to do a drive. I'm gonna go back there and let him look at it but I guarantee the same thing as you is gonna happen. They'll send me on my way and say if and when it breaks, bring it back. I might try to go to a different Service department though. Like 3 dealers within 15 miles of me.
