So my pulley system is squealing like a *****, I'm replacing part after part and kind of want to stop throwing money away, I replaced three pulleys and the belt so far.

I replaced two pulleys because it had a slight squeal then everything was great no squealing at all no sounds everything was good. After about 10-15 days it started to squeal worse than it ever has.

Replaced the serpentine belt, 1 day of no sounds, next day squealed even worse!

Replaced the Idler pulley and right now I start it up and the sounds are painful. Also sometimes when it's cold started the belt tensioner flaps, no squealing just flaps, and after the engine warms up it stops flapping and squeals again

Upon holding a long screwdriver up to some pulleys I hear no sounds, even tried a stethoscope.

Here's what I believe the problem is, the spring in the tensioner must be shot therefore requiring a new tensioner arm, from taking the belt on and off plus its age i guess it's worn? Anyone ever have similar problems? Any input what the squealing could be? Lastly where could I find a good cheap tensioner arm or bracket or whatever you want to call it.

I've heard of the bearings wearing out on the tensioner and idler pulleys but not the spring. If the spring is worn out and isn't providing enough tension then the loose belt could be the source of the squealing.

My question is, how hard/easy should it be to loosen the tensioner, my uncle is a very strong man and can while struggling lift the tensioner with his hand and take the belt on and off, should this be the case? also we've notice that it has room to go back and pushing down on it to tighten the system, how much room should it have in the reverse direction? Should he not be able to struggle and lift it with his hand? is this is the case I'm guessing it's worn

Replace the tensioner. It should not be real hard to move if you are using a long breaker bar (even using a 6-8 inch ratchet it should not be very hard). Sounds like the spring has froze up on the tensioner. You will also have to replace the belt again if you see ANY damage on it.
