hello guys i know it's kinda strange that you have Egyptian guy joining the Ram Forum as its pure American street car.
i have dodge ram 2008 . 1500 hemi 5.7 for while i got throwing code
p0406 i know it bad egr since it's really hard to find in Egypt i decided to wait until i import it from some where .

but later i checked and i got
P0868

i took the car to local service garage and i replaced the trans oil and filter with mopar original one and i also changed the engine oil and filter as full service with Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40

now the codes came back including
P1521

i got not performance loss the car is driving very smooth and very well
just the never switched off check engine lamp

ANY Idea what shall i do or what's going on ???????

You were probably correct about the first two codes.

P0406 is most likely an egr valve.

P0868 is for low line pressure. It is usually caused by low fluid. It was likely fixed by the trans service you did.

The P1521 was caused by putting 5w40 in it. That code is for incorrect engine oil type. Is that what you usually use? Is this your first oil change with this truck? 5w20 is the recommended engine oil weight.

5w40 works just fine in the Hemi engine. I've been running it for years. There might be a TSB for PCM software updates that cover fixing that code. It's a stupid code really.

What year is your hemi? There is no tsb. If the guy is trying to diagnose a code for incorrect oil type, the first step would be to put in the correct oil viscosity. Seems pretty simple.

what makes me sleepless is the P0868 low line pressure code i did already change the transmission oil and filter 3 weeks ago but the code has just come back 2 days ago >>>> really dunno what i should do next ????

i'm going to dodge service center and see what they gonna say about that

and for sure i will keep you informed .

but if already someone have some kind of suggestion or information about that matter you so welcome..

I would start by making sure the trans fluid isn't low. See if after the truck sits and is cold if it doesn't want to move when you put it in gear. You might have trans fluid draining back out of the torque converter into the pan.

clear the codes and when you start it in the mourning let it idle for 10 to 20 seconds before shifting, my 05 daytona will throw the the code if i rush it, its been that way since new, at 800 miles dealer did the filter swap, same problem, i have since done 3 trans service's and now have 83,000 miles shifts great, just have patience on cold startup and it should be fine
