When running E85 you can advance/increase the timing quite a bit as long as you have the fuel system/pump capacity to handle it. E85 requires a significant amount of fuel to be added in the tune and you have to verify that your fuel system can handle it by watching your injector duty cycle.I was wondering if anyone has timing advise for a 4th gen ram with a e85 conversion kit for optimal performance?
Are you doing the tuning yourself with Diablo's CMR tuning or is someone else tuning the truck for you?Any update on this situation of mine ?
If you haven't been around E85 and tuning before it makes your thinking understandable. It does take a considerable amount of E85 but with that extra fuel you can make a significant amount of power. E85 allows the tuner to increase the total timing to go along with the added fuel and E85 provides a cooling effect in the cylinders because of the alcohol content.E85 tune sounds like an unusually bad idea to me. I know Sheetz sells it but it requires 10 or 15% more E85 to deliver the equavalent energy in regular 87 octane.
So why bother?
