If aftermarket, and if you get a chance tomorrow, i'm definitely interested in which lifters you used. Especially in how they hold up over time. I've been hoping to hear something about Comp Cams Hemi lifters, but havn't found anyone who has used them yet.
Seeing as how you have a burr up your rear about FB,i'll summerize the Comp Lifters, they're no better then any of the other aftermarket lifters available these days. There's 2 brands of lifters that are good, and that's the OEM lifters and the short travel Johnson Lifters with axle oiling, avoid all others.
You can probably get OEM lifters from either MMX or FRP if you phone them

Thanks for the info. That's too bad, but it's about what I expected.

As for Facebook, it's not that I have a burr up my rear, so much as I'm just completely indifferent to their existence. I'm not a big fan of *********s or socialists, but it doesn't bug me TOO badly that they exist.

I mean, don't get me wrong. If Zuckerberg got hit by as asteroid and everything within 100 yards of him got turned into a smoking hole in the earth, i'd be just almost happy enough to smile for a sec, then go back to whatever I was doing.

But, if the only place on earth that this kinda info exists is Facebook, I'd probably just ask the wife to look it up when I got home from work rather sign up for an account.

It seems odd to me that the forum hides the word comm you nist, but not the word socialist.

There's some pretty decent engine builders and tuners on the high performance car and truck pages on facebook, that you'll never find on here. The pages dedicated to just late model Hemi engines are the best,Tuned Rams and High Performance Rams are semi decent pages, but there's way more info and expertise on the pages dedicated to just the engine or car end of things. You don't have to comment or read all the posts on FB,if you do,you need thick skin,as there's alot of a-holes in the world :Big Laugh:

How well does the PPE shorty headers fit?

•Polished T304 stainless steel, CNC mandrel bent.

$459.99 @ American Trucks.

I read all of the reviews there and none are mentioned about the 5.7 HEMI.
The lifters are NON-MDS. 856Y-16. Hope that helps

The shorty PPE headers fit amazing. They sound great and were incredibly affordable. Considering I've had basically the entire upper of my motor rebuilt it was all well worth it. I've just bought a throttle body spacer I'm going to install this afternoon.
I totally recommend the shorties, stage 1 cam and HV pump. It drive like a monster. The torque available is more than I could've expected. It honestly feels like a different truck. On hiway at 140 km it sits around 2 1/2 k rpm. It just wants to go and it's throaty as anything I've heard.

Pray tell what do you think a TB spacer is going to accomplish, other then lightening your wallet. It's not a carb intake,so another 1/2" of runner length isn't going to do anything.
If you wanted a noticable torque gain off idle, and more power all through the powerband, you should of sprung for long tubes, shorties don't really do much for making torque under the curve

These baby’s.

they fit wonderfully look great too. The welds are superb and don’t require heat wraps or heat shielding. They do have a heat coating.

So far they are perfect. The fit is great and they perform perfect. So much go now it’s nuts. Just washed her up today and I’ll post some photos tomorrow.

I love my truck so much. Cleaning it and looking at it afterwards is so rewarding. Also after getting out when parking. My dad once said if you don’t turn around and admire your truck when getting out of it - it’s not the right truck. I completely agree and I do

So many little things to do tomorrow. Changing the emblem on the tailgate. New deeper amber led turn signal that hopefully closer match the diode dynamics max amber fogs I put on. (Which are AMAZING if you’re in the market for fogs). They are the most expensive fog lights I’ve EVER seen but they’re brighter than my HID and projector headlights by a country mile. Got a rock light thinking of installing, also to try a new UI for my head unit. Then finally tune my stereo and amps. I know there’s so much more to do even small things being busy is rewarding

I’ll get more photos up tomorrow and get pics of the new headers

It’s $50 cdn. I don’t expect anything honestly, but I’ve read if you ARE going to notice a performance difference - it’s after cam, lifters, intake and exhaust. Which I have just finished getting done

Really though, I enjoy the building, planning, tinkering and modifying. I don’t expect better times for a 2” aluminum plate lol. That’d be like installing a catch can and expecting a performance boost Nah I doubt it . I enjoy the work more than anything. She already runs far better than anything I’ve imagined and am very happy with it

On the manifold - I have to disagree. I compared long and short tubes on the 1500. I’m not sure about your info. My truck certainly has loads more torque now. From Idle to 5 1/2k The added torque in the low and mid band feels like a 6.2 now. I’ve read online as well as talking to mechanics I know. The difference is more than I expected

I can’t say what long tubes do because I didn’t install longs. I can tell you these Shorts have added noticeable more torque low and mid range.

FWIW manifold and stage 1 cam, I would do it again without a doubt. If the bones are good with good compression if you are considering this - I say go for it. Time is short not to drive the truck you deserve. Next to a turbo, S/C, or new crate motor - this is the next best thing and priced super reasonable considering the work/cost/performance ratio

Besides lightening your wallet and possibly introducing a restriction to the intake tract, the only thing they are really good for is drilling & tapping for nitrous jets.

It didn't gain any torque from your shorties that's for sure, maybe the cam,but not the shorties.
Shorties are geared for higher up in the rpm band. The exhaust works similiar to the intake, the long runners in the intake manifold create torque, the short runners create higher rpm power, that's why guys like the 6.4 intake manifold,as it creates more torque then the 5.7 intake does, it has longer intake runners then the 5.7 intake manifold has. Some of us have been doing this for longer then you've been alive, and are gonna call you on some of your claims lol.
I just sold both of these, but the truck played with Hellcats at the track, and the wifes 6.4 Challenger easily beat up on Hellcats at Rad Torque in Edmonton.
