So then... what is the best octane gas to run with my catch can... and does that change if I take the catch can off? What about MPG, does a catch can increase my MPG? I did just put a sticker on my truck window... will that help?

It depends on what the sticker says, if the sticker says "Hybrid" your mpgs could double. If the sticker says "Performance, Hemi, Power" or anything like that, you are looking at south of 10 mpgs. ;)

I'll be sure to insert [sarcasm][/sarcasm] tags just for you from now on. lol

If you would read what I actually say this would help you greatly.

I pretty much said that hi performance cars, sc'd , TT'd and throw in the direct injection are the exception and I would be getting one for my viper with a breather system.

I think everyone agrees with that.....If you never get one on your daily driver nothing is going to happen except a little soot in the intake and throttle body and I backed it up with all the cars I have ran up miles on.

Saying that people that don't put a priority on this are haters is ridiculous. Is just an opinion but I have never heard of anyone damaging their stock or lightly modded from not getting one and that is the truth....

People freaking out over not having a catch can is the dumbest thing I have ever seen on a car forum but wittle boyz do make mountains out of mole hills and life in general so it's in your nature and I get that.:baby:

Actually, I'm just messing with you:roflsquared:

I am not an engineer, but I have a couple of questions.

If you could buy a device that would add a fine mist of oil to the fuel/air mix of a 4-cycle gasoline engine, would you buy one?
-and-
Is there any benefit to adding oil to the gas of a 4-cycle engine?

If the answers are no, then I don't understand why a catch can is a waste of money.

For the record,
I do not believe that adding a catch can:
1. increases the life of the engine.
2. increases the HP of the engine.
3. increases the MPG of the engine.

I do believe it helps keep the throttle body clean,
and I also wonder if adding a little oil to the gas mixture actually reduces the octane rating of the the gasoline.

If it saves me the time of having to remove and clean the throttle body, even 2-3 times over the life of the vehicle, I figure it was worth the $120. I paid for it.

We hope this is the last truck we ever buy.

For the record, our last truck was a 2001 ram 1500 6cyl, manual transmission with 170K. Great truck, no problems, no mods at all.
Probably still be driving it today if the cement truck didn't have other plans.
