Did you get them from Walmart?

I went with Discount Tire and IIRC paid about $1200 out the door which wasn't too bad. My only experience with Wally World and tires was they tried to sell me three year old tires as "new". Glad I checked the date codes. Granted, they were for my 5th wheel and might have been a slow-moving product but that kind of soured me.

285/75/18 Falkens are 34.8 inches tall, 11.5 inches wide and are very smooth running and have a 50k mile warranty. You can't go wrong with them. I've had them all and these are by far my favorite tire now.

I'm resurrecting this old thread from the last time I bought tires as I'm (unfortunately) having to buy again. A bit over 3 years and about 25K miles in and one of my Coopers got a non-repairable gash. It might have been vandalism but I might have just run over something that put about a 1.5" slice right down the middle of one tire.

I thought the cut was from a knife but it is angled so I'm not sure. Also, it's right through the tread and I'd think if someone was going to knife it they'd go between the tread pieces. I was parked in a neighborhood during a "Farmer's Market" type thing and some residents have been known to get cranky at all the congestion and parking. Anyway, I HATE running with mismatched tires so I'm just going to replace all 4.

The Coopers were overall great but I've opted to try out a set of Michelin Agilis. I've always been a huge Michelin fan and to find one with the snowflake winter rating is ideal. Also, not a bad price point @ $1250 all in at Discount Tire.

Anyone have any experience with the Agilis?

Other random thoughts/notes:

Discount Tire is again cheaper than Costco and far cheaper than Les Schwab (Schwab must make their tires with gold... lol)

I thought I had my alignment problem handled prior to the Coopers but got crowning on the outer side of one tire again. Had it aligned again yesterday at the dealer so we'll see.

It's been a pretty chaotic last few years and I never did rotate the Coopers and the rears are definitely more worn. Telling myself I'll do better this time. It seems every time these tire shops say a rotation will take 30 minutes it takes 3 hours.

My truck is now a backup/towing vehicle so I'm not too worried about the mileage rating as I imagine these tires will age out at 5/6ish years before the tread wears but we'll see. I'm currently only putting 8K or so miles/year on this vehicle.

My Toyo MTs are already trash after 3y.

I just got Nexan roadian MTX this time around. These also just lasted 3y on my buddies truck, but they are 35% cheaper

As a bonus , they have the exact same thread pattern as the Toyo MTs so my full size spare matches.

My new tires grip as good as my Toyo MTs. had to let off since my buddies road just got graded. Will do it again once it's a bit more compacted. I really want to hold it to 220 next time.
