I have had Both and I currently have 32k miles On my toyo open country at3 35.12.5r20 and they are incredible. The wet traction snow traction balancing ease, tread wear, they are far superior. The wild peaks have issues balancing and are squares. They also throw tons of Little Rock’s. They wet rain traction was a lot less confident feeling. I don’t have fancy data but I run tons of different sets of tires on my rams and rubicon’s and the toyo open country has been my fav tire on the ram so far.

The Toyo's Open Country ATII's came stock on my Rebel. I did not have a good experience with them. They were an earlier generation than those that were used by other posters who gave favorable reviews? Mine were great in the dry, but dangerous in the wet. The tires nearly caused several crashes from a variety of circumstances. For example, trying to pull out from a stop in the wet and not being able to get enough traction to accelerate, understeering on an onramp, and oversteering on an average turn.

I now have the wildpeak's and I can say they are phenomenal compared to the Toyo's. I've driven them in the snow and they feel very planted. I am very happy with them so far. They are fairly quiet, ride smooth, and have good wet traction. I will say that the dry traction is a step down from the generation of Toyo's that I had. I do drive spirited, especially in the corners, compared to most people.

I experienced the same. Maybe it was because my Toyos were on new 2016 Rebel takeoff wheels that I purchased. They were bad enough that I quickly changed them for Wildpeaks.

I put Yokohama Geolanders on in 295/70/18's on the day my DS Ram1500 was delivered new (didn't want the stock 20"). I too wanted the higher speed rating. I used to run these on my supercharged Hilux (Australian version of a Tacoma) but they weren't LT rated in 265/65/17 and used to kill the rear tyres towing so I switched to Toyo AT2. They are really good tyres but they do go like soap once you wear them down a bit, not as bad as Cooper or similar but will get slippery. Not as aggressive a tread as AT3 or Falken though, but when I got them they were very cheap as there was a buy 3 get 4 deal on.

I just installed my 2nd set of Falken Wildpeaks. They handle extremely well in the rain and sand. I rotated and balanced every 7k or so, when the oil was due. 48k is excellent milage for a set of sneakers.

I don't have much new to say here but I'll "+1" for the Falken Wildpeak AT3s. I've been running them on a '71 Chevy C20 truck and a '94 GMC Yukon 4x4 both for years. I would also consider putting them on my RAM. I don't put a lot of miles on my vehicles but I have done several-hour and cross country trips as well as some pretty harsh winter conditions and mountain off road driving and they handle it all pretty well. A good overall tire - I would buy again.

Of all the sets of tires I’ve had on my 14 1500 the Falkens lasted the longest. Mostly rain use, but they did well on a trip we took on fire roads. We’re NW of Seattle and they did great in the few super wet heavy snow we get. Great job going up to the mountains too. I was running the p-metric 275/60/20 at 40psi cold and I got 44,000 miles on them. I could have gotten through the rest of the summer/fall out of them but I ended up with a non repairable puncture in one of them. I didn’t haul or pull any super heavy weight, and I drive pretty conservatively- 392 gearing gas mileage and tires get to expensive to be drag racing everywhere!! LOL

Can't say enough good things about the Falken AT3s. They're relatively quiet on the road, great in snow, they give you that aggressive look, and they are cheaper than most if not all tires in that category. I've had them on both of my trucks and I couldn't be any more satisfied of how they performed. My 1st truck was a 2wd and it had no issues whatsoever driving in snow. Now I have a 4x4 and with the Wildpeaks on them the truck just cruises in snow. Haven't tried them on muddy terrains yet.

I’m currently running the Cooper AT3 XLT’s . Can’t say enough good about them , previous tires were the Toyo AT2’s . Didn’t even consider the Toyo AT3’s after having a set of Toyo’s . Not a fan , but can’t say one way or the other about the AT3 , just didn’t want any part of another set of Toyo’s . These Coopers so far are superior in handing ride etc , can’t compare a lot about traction , truck doesn’t see a great amount of snow . If these Coopers don’t get somewhat close to the mileage I think they should , Falkens will be my next tire to try . The Toyo AT2’s were terrible on mileage , didn’t get a lot more out of them than the OE Firestones . And I rotate religiously every 5k .
