Hello everyone,
I have a 2014 Ram 1500 2wd and recently traded the factory wheels, with the plastic cover, for a set of all aluminum factory sport wheels. The guy didn't know what year the wheels came off of.
once i swapped them, about 30 miles later the "check tire pressure sensor" warning and yellow tire light came on and all tires were blank.
My nephew cleared the code with his snap-on scanner, and although the warning light went away for a week, i don't think it was a true reading, because for the entire week it had the drivers side at 40psi and the passengers side at 42psi. Usually in the morning its different than in the heat of the day.
Yesterday i went and got new tires, and sure enough the warning and light came back, so i took it back to the tire place and he had a better scanner than my nephews, he went to each wheel and he said it must be from an earlier or later model then my originals and there's nothing he can do about it, i either have to live with it or change out the TPMS sensors, which i really don't want to do, more money.
Is there a way to get these to read or am i screwed ? I'd like for them to work, but not willing to spend more money, and have them remove the tires again, at the very least i'll just hope that my nephews scanner can at least clear the code and have no warning light, but would like for them to work if possible
Thanks in advance for anything you can help with. I've searched the internet and YouTube to no avail.
