Is it an oem tps sensor? Some of the aftermarket ones can have issues.

It just mounts to the side of the throttle body by 2 screws and a plug

But was it a factory replacement throttle position sensor or an aftermarket one you installed as the replacement? The aftermarket ones are very picky sometimes. I had a 97 that if I used an aftermarket map or o2 the truck ran like crap so I had to go buy oem sensors and it ran fine.
