Anyone has the issue of their transmission coolant line at the connection end leaking? There is two lines and one of which, the clamp end seems to be leaking. Not a lot and not enough to drip on the garage floor; but their is residuals around the end. It is easy to replace that line? I assume the leaking line is the hot line since that likely takes the most abuse on those end points.

Happened to me and had my shop switch out the hoses for long ones and Install new fittings on both ends Of each line and you good to go. I can’t remember what I was charged but it wasn’t much, definitely a lot less than replacing both lines. Mine where leaking due to 3” body lift. I didn’t catch in time as it was such a slow leak, nothing on ground and my trans lasted 2 years After I found it until she blew.

I saw some YouTube video of splice the lines and replacing the fittings on the end that leaked rather than trying to replace with new lines (which will eventually leak as it is a bad design).
Did you over stretched yours due to the 3" lift?

Yes sir, 3” body lift stretched them tight. I was unaware of the lines stretching. Ran them
Like that for 2 years before I noticed the trans wouldnt shift right and slipping. Blackish oil type trans fluid when I checked the dip and it was really low. The connectors were basically the same type, just way more beefier and quick disconnect if ever needing replacing. Sad thing is, I had the trans rebuilt by a trans shop and they installed the same damn lines. I’m going to need them changed again. However I check them often and they appear to be okay for now.

I thought the lift would not effect those lines and they aren’t attached to the under body? I checked mine last night and it’s by no mean stretched and I leveled it at 2.5 inches.

Do the lines run the same way between the older 5 speed trucks and the newer 8 speed trucks?
