I took delivery of my New 2020 2500 Laramie Longhorn this past Tuesday, on Friday night as I started off from a stop light the transmission hung up in one of the lower gears, and would not shift. I immediately pull into a parking lot put the truck in park, turn it off.

I restarted the truck, put in dtive and so far it has not happened again. I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

It may need a flash. But very strange. I’d head to the dealer. Maybe fluids are low.

It happen again Wednesday afternoon, I took it into the Dealer Thursday morning, they said it showed no codes and they couldn't fine anything wrong.

They even tried driving the truck around and couldn't reproduce the problem. I talked with the service manager and we agreed I will keep him posted if it happens again.

You'll need to post it up on a video sharing site like YouTube or Viemo, then post that link here.

As for the transmission, the dealership first step is usually replacing the valve body. There have been similar issues with the 8HP70 transmission, that was the first recourse of repair.

This might sound totally stupid. Does it have pedal shifters? The only reason that I ask, is my Durango R/T if you even remotely touched them it would do that. You wouldn't even realize it. I am not doubting it maybe something else. Just something to look at if it does it again.

Ok here an update on my New truck, they are going to replace my windshield. Now this is kinda hard for me to say, so forgive my old butt But my transmission problem is not a problem with the truck, the problem turns out to be with my hand. There a button on the steering wheel that locks the transmission into a certain gear, it's actually a gear selection button, that I apparently hit unknowingly when turning the wheel. Good news is nothing wrong with the transmission, bad news is too many damn buttons on the steering wheel. If you go to my Facebook link above I shared a picture of it.

Those are the Electronic Range Selection (ERS) buttons for the transmission. They are used to limit what gear the transmission will shift up to but you can't use them to make the transmission upshift.
