Transmission issue

So today the tranny decided to get stupid, it sounds like a bolt fell off and is rattling around inside the bell housing, it only does it in drive or reverse and the noise disappears as soon as you start moving.

It’s going to the dealer Thursday but for the life of me I can’t think of what it could be, it drives fine, no vibration and no noise until you come to a stop.

Drop the pan, as in this minute.

Maybe shift linkage, but normally that would stop shifting. Filter is plastic, wouldn't sound like that. Maybe a ball from your valve body. Good you are under warranty yes.

I hate my dealership for many reasons, called the other two that are in the area, one transferred me to service 3 times and nobody answered, the second dealership didn’t have an appointment for 3 weeks (this is the best one in the area) and so it went to the one I trust the least but I need the truck for my business. I can’t be without it for weeks. Let’s hope these idiots get we done!

I feel your pain. My truck was at the dealer about a month ago for that power steering issue on '13 and '14 half tons, was there for 3 days just for them to say they couldn't get it to act up, so no repair. I'm just waiting for it to fail completely so I can get one at wrench-a-part. Hope you make out better than I did and actually get it fixed!

They called today to inform me that they had to wait for their transmission specialist to look at it. Oh boy, here we go

Go figure, transmission guy didn’t have time to look at it. I don’t know why service departments make appointments, they never keep them. Once they have your vehicle they take their sweet time. I can not stand dealerships!

It seems that there was an “extra” washer that was running loose in the tranny since it was built, it made its way into the converter. Cant make this **** up lol. They are rebuilding the trans hope to have it back Tuesday.

I hope not considering I know for sure that they’ve ordered a new converter, flex plate and valve body
