I have a 65RFE and when I did a fluid & filter change there was no magnet in the pan. Do these transmissions have a magnet?

They’re supposed to have magnets in the pan... are you the first one to service it?

They are absolutely supposed to have a magnet in the pan. It's a round magnet about the size of a quarter.

Heres a pic of my stock pan with the magnet.ba2d70bd6c4563435368ff424b34bb0d.jpg

I bought it used. It had RTV on one side of the trans gasket and no magnet. This leads me to believe that it was serviced before. I can put a strong magnet on the outside of the pan and later put one in the pan next time I service it.

I think the RTV on one side of the gasket was to hold the gasket place. They probably did not realize that the gasket holes are small enough to hold the pan bolts in place while reinstalling the pan.
