Hi. Kinda new kinda not. Let me get started.
Had a 2017 ram 1500 with no android auto. Found this forum, did the upgrade with the USBhub and radio purchased on here from one of the vendors, went fine.

My truck recently died. Now im in a 2018 2500 with a uaq but the screen is pealing and delaminating. So I got my security code I needed, too the upgraded uaq radio out of my old 2017 and popped it into my new to me 2018. Popped in the security code, and I thought I was in business. Functionality is there but zero sound on any input.

So zero sound except tiny amount when I switch between Bluetooth and fm. I used alfaobd to test tone the amp, checked fuses, no dice. I cant get to the radio for some reason with alfa. So for now I reverted back, pulled my newer uaq and put the 2018 sticker back in.

The 2018 has the 9 speaker alpine system with sub under the rear seat. The 2017 had basic cab 6 speakers.

Any ideas on no sound? I'd really just like my screen to not look so horrible.

Thanks in advance,

Give it several hours to read the BCM. If still not working, disconnect negative battery terminal and after reconnecting give it several more hours

Seems to have done the trick. Have sound and functionality. Might have another issue. Maybe I need a new post. I cant seem to get to the factory radio or the new one I just put in, with alfaobd. Its the only module I cant seem to do anything or even reach with my bypass cable. Any thoughts?

What OBDII adapter are you using?

Let me get the guys business card. Its a company alfaobd suggested as the old cables are no longer being built. I know mine has both a green and a white add on plug that plugs into the corresponding busses right behind the stock obd11 location. Then it does crossover. I was curious if maybe it doesn't have the radio pins in the cable. But I dont know.

That would be the SGM bypass cable. I also wanted to know which bluetooth adapter you are using to connect Alfa to the vehicle.

Which bypass are you using (do you have a link)?

There's not a whole heck of a lot to do in the radio module.
