Warranty is up. I just have my aftermarket warranty. Which I believe covers it but I pay a deductible

Gotcha. I guess it can't hurt to at least take it in and see how much of the deductible you'd have to pay. I wish I had more technical knowledge of how it works but unfortunately I'm about as dumb as it gets when it comes to the inner workings of our trucks.

Funny thing.... my BB connected fine to the U-conn up until i took it in to have the trailer brake controller installed.
I just noticed that the messaging does not work anymore, the screen button is dark and inactive.
All other u-conn functions work even the bluetooth media playing.

Weird. going to have to ask the dealer.

I can't figure out how to link the thread here because I'm on my phone. But there's a thread pretty similar to this over in "4th Gens" and under "audio and electronics". It's called "touch screen problems".

Sorry I can't throw the link in for you guys but I'm not to good at using tapatalk yet. If you haven't been following that thread already, go read through it and see if you can find some answers. Good luck!

I went to the voice commands and went to "setup" and "USB" and it worked. If that's how it works that's kinda crappy, who wants to set it up every time

You shouldn't have to set anything up each time you get into the truck. I just get in and turn the truck on and the voice command stuff all works. It just takes about 30 seconds to load and then I can use it.

Yea man, I'm sorry you have to deal with all that. I guess that's the problem with technology that is so new...usually it works great but everyonce in a while it doesn't work at all.

Why not just plug in the ipod through the aux connector? A lot simpler since you don't wanna take it to the dealer and deal with the deductible

I believe you have to go to the website and type in your VIN number, but it might be done from your actual Uconnect system. Anyone else know for sure?

Try out the website until someone else answers up lol

Well if you can't update it from your Uconnect then it's definitely broke it. I'm with Garner on this one, either just use the AUX port or take it into the dealer.

With my LG phone, it takes a couple attempts to set it up with the U-Connect system.
I have not had any luck with the USB port in the glove box. Try the USB port on the front.
I have also found that to transfer music on, it will not work with a USB. I have to put the music on my mp3 player, then plug it into the AUX port.
Then, of all the music I have on there, I keep hearing the same songs. Over and over. Not too happy with this system. Is there an upgrade for it?

Kinda with you. I can load music fine on the hardrive but it wont ever play it. Just shows up blank.. What's the point of a 30GB HD and you cant even use it..

btw. My GS 3 connects fine.

Tried my moms iPhone 4 and 4s, both gave errors most of the time, 4 connected once.

Yea man it's just your system then. Just take it to the dealer or use the AUX port instead.
