Uconnect updates

Hello,

I just recently purchased a new to me 2016 ram rebel. It has the 8.4 vp4 uconnect radio. When I do the vin search online it shows uconnect is up to date. The version I’m currently running is 16.09.09 which I believe is out of date. I just purchased updated maps for the navigation and it won’t let me update them until software is updated. Where should I start?

I already did and it states it’s up to date. But I don’t believe 16.09.09 is up to date.

It tells me mine is up to date, and I know it is not, they are in the 17's, and my U Connect on Uconnect 4 radio is original from when I bought truck in 2018

You could call the number below & ask them what the latest update # is

I just did the update from 17.09.01 to 18.45.??? On my 17 ram. Lost my aux input and can't play streaming music thru Bluetooth. Very frustrating

I just tried to update also. I downloaded the lasted 18.45 ? . My radio will not let me install it. I called their customer service and they told me to go to the dealership. WTF.

therein lies the problem

Rams Engineers wrote the update & it may have a flaw ?
Uconnect or Driveuconnect just sends the update out to the satellites

When it does not work, for whatever reason, they want you to take the issue to the dealership, who is actually is an independent dealership selling Mopar products, so you get stonewalled on a fix

Then a Regional Representative for Ram needs to be brought in, if you raise enough of a rucas for the dealership to call for them to intervene

I downloaded the 18.45 update to a flash drive and it will upload to my truck. I called and they told me to go to the dealership. How much this cost me. Very disappointed.

What country are you in? The update is meant for North American market radios.

I pick my Ram up in the morning
They are doing a radio update & an oil change

Fingers crossed that they did not brick my radio
