Updated RBZ and got a cool suprise

Here's my info off the unit:

Application: 08.03.02
Audio CPU: 021210
Gracenote: 93F
System: 0101

So what are my options? Are there any updates for a unit this old? Believe it's the stock for my 2010 Sport.

I think you're out of luck with the 50.00.07.

My understanding is that if you have 08.03.02, It's a different hardware version. (that's what I had in my old 430 RBZ)

For you guys with 08.03.02, the latest version is supposed to be 10.00.11
However, I didn't really notice any improvement on that update.

I updated to 08.05, where do you find the 10.00.11 to update to that? I didn't go into town, but it seems as though my sound quality is different. Like there's clearer high end frequencies. I'll play around with it tomorrow and update if I find anything else.

So just to update, I did get a change in sound quality going to 08.05. It's clearer but lost some low end punch. Think it will work out best though for when I add a powered sub. Haven't checked to see if it fixed my .jpg issues yet though.

Yeah me too...I was this close to pulling the trigger on a newer one on eBay and selling the current one.

Unfortunately, I bought an older RBZ on e-Bay and while it works fine, I cannot update it to the black color scheme.
I updated it to ver. 08.05.01, unfortunately, this unit cannot be updated past ver. 10.01.XX.

I think as long as your radio software is at ver. 20.XX or higher, you are good to update to 33.XX and then 50.XX

Yes that's correct. You are in the same boat as Cruizer and I. The older RBZ can only go to 10.xx.

Although they are capable of Uconnect I dont have it in my truck. YOu are right though...they are separate systems.

For the 20.*** version you should be able to go to 33.01.23 first and then to 50.00.07 that I linked in the first post. That's what I did anyway. I started with 20.02.01, updated to 33.01.23, and then finally updated to the nice 50.00.07 from there.

I read on the jeep forums that some went directly from 20.*** to the new 50.00.07, but several people recommended going to 33.*** before going to 50.***

50.00.07 gave me the black theme. If you have a lockpick, I recommend removing it before updating to be safe.

This is what I did also. Went from 20.x --> 33.x --> 50.x. I had the official disks from Ram. I was a little worried to run them on my '11 Jeep, because they said for "2012 vehicles only". It worked fine. It changes the whole look of the interior IMO -- especially at night.

done and succesfull. It seems I have more highs than lows. So I have to adjust my sub amp now. I like the flat mostly black look. Everything works just the same and didn't loose anything on the hard drive. Whish was good because I have 28gb of music I'd rather not redo.

Great thread!!! I updated both my RAM and the wife's Durango. Loving the black background but I have to say that I like the red accents on the Durango even more
