Does this only work with the navigation units? I don't have nav either or the backup camera. Mine runs like crap though. Seems half the time I use the remote start my RBZ freezes then reboots. Doesn't play some MP3's and don't know why and also seems to have issues with some .jpg files. Looks all scrambled when you go to view them.

I have been researching this for bit now.

From what I have read it will work on non-nav units. However, your radio must be past the 20.*** version. I am still working on it to see if I have done something wrong in burning the ISO.

So far all it will do is read the disc, recognize it as data, and then say "stopped" in red letters at the bottom of the screen.

So LB I wouldn't be afraid to try it, especially if your application ver is past 20.***.

I hate this idea of putting something out like this that can't be updated. I don't know if I'm past the 20.*** version. I'll have to look here in a bit. I would love to have the black interface though, and it would be nice if it made it stop acting stupid sometimes.

That was the main reason I wanted the update as I instantly hated the blue background when I installed it.

Here's my info off the unit:

Application: 08.03.02
Audio CPU: 021210
Gracenote: 93F
System: 0101

So what are my options? Are there any updates for a unit this old? Believe it's the stock for my 2010 Sport.

For the freezing problem, have you tried resetting it through the engineering page?

Mine wasn't loading music. Reset it, and now it's great!

So I found some people with Jeeps talking about builds less than 08.05 can be upgraded to that version but haven't seen anything about updating to anything like these 30.xx or 50.xx versions. Seen one guy saying his updated upgraded the sound quality. Just don't know about using a Jeep update on our Rams.

This worked! Just completed. I tried to jump to the 50.*** right after it completed, and no dice.

Do you see any improvements? Really curious about the sound quality now. I feel like MP3's I know are in great quality don't sound as optimal as they could. I even have aftermarket Rockford Fosgate 6x9's in all 4 doors.

If there's any 730 RER owners that need an update, or anyone that wants the latest gracenote update, let me know.

Marginal if any. The stock HU is the pits because of the internal eq. I can actually hear the bass dropping out as the volume goes up (Slipknot Duality).

So not to hijack Ocelot's thread, but I have all this audio gear sitting in my office mocking me waiting to be installed. Keeping the stock HU has SERIOUSLY complicated things.

I am really considering scrapping the project to go with the Mopar Kicker upgrade (amp better speakers).

Soo if I have the 20.xx version what one do I use? I do like the black background better.

For the 20.*** version you should be able to go to 33.01.23 first and then to 50.00.07 that I linked in the first post. That's what I did anyway. I started with 20.02.01, updated to 33.01.23, and then finally updated to the nice 50.00.07 from there.

I read on the jeep forums that some went directly from 20.*** to the new 50.00.07, but several people recommended going to 33.*** before going to 50.***

50.00.07 gave me the black theme. If you have a lockpick, I recommend removing it before updating to be safe.
